I'm reading another mesoamerican centered book on the fall of the ancient Mayans. I've read on the Aztecs and Incas and gleaned a lot of information on them. Mayans are my next study. I ask myself the question: Did they really fall or become absorbed into the other nation states? Perhaps the Great Old Ones have the answer.

I would say they were absorbed, just like the Aztecs. The culture is still alive and well in Mexico and Guatemala (even observable in America, with immigrants). What ended, was Mayan civilization. CS

Yes CS, that is the feelings of the book author David Webster who has explored sites in the area fore mentioned. I was truly surprised to read that the culture lives on today. I will keep you and all abreast of my findings.

So far, I'm getting the idea that the succession of rulers declined, movements to other farmable land and the introduction of European disease was a contribution to the "shift" of the Mayan culture. Reading for more insights. Awake

What compelled you to read it in the first place? What's the allure?

From my early years in school the Mayans, Incas and Aztecs really interested me. I read a book in jr high about their farming, building and how they built those islands from the lake and swamp to have more living spaces. The documentaries of the anciet sites really held my interest. I would wonder what had happened to their way of life. How cruel it was for the early explorers to come in and take over and "save" the savages. More recent history channel programs awakened my interest again.

I have been trying to get the book available to me once again to continue reading and doing some in depth study.
I did find a book on the Hopi and Sun Kivas that was very interesting. There was a mention of artifacts found in the Hopi ruins and sites of Mesoamerican contact.
Hopefully I will be able to focus and get back to my study and realize new insights.

I have an interview with an Incan Shaman on my pod-o-matic. You can find it on my website. It's kind of long, about 2 hours, but some decent content covered.

That's great Priestess, I will certainly check it out. Thanks alot for the heads ups. I'm sure it will be very enlightening.
My cousin who lives in Mexico (couldn't spell the name of the town if I had to) is going to some ancient ruins within the week. I asked her to take some pictures for me. I'll post when I get them. I'm excited about that.

Crap, Richard... I'm sorry. I had removed that track because it was so long. I can reload it for you if you like. I also have a few titles covering Meso-America, such as Thought-Forms, and The Sante Muerte Cult I belong to.

I'll dig around for the Inca segment and upload it for you.
Sorry about that!
