h.p. lovecraft in an interview said the inspiration for the necronomicon came to him by Robert W. Chambers 4 stories featuring a play with 2 acts (2 seasons in babylonian calender) and featured a symbol known as the yellow sign which would evoke the sinister king in yellow an epitheth for hastur/xastur in the illuminati trilogy they describe a tentacle looking image designed to put you into mental communication with the secret masters. helena blavatsky claims she channeled stuff from secret masters in shangri la, who had the elixer of immortality. h.p. lovecraft also details an undying cult in china described in the al kitab al azif/necronomicon/king in yellow. anybody in tulare county or bakersfield? makes more sense when explained face to face and i can draw.

Good information, I had to go check out Mr. Chambers, so I found a copy of his yellow king on Scribd and a history of that damn Dark Book of Mr. Lovecrafts'. Interesting, I love the far east, spent some time there. Ia Ia Cthulhu fhatgn!

I found the link rather interesting as well. "The King in Yellow" is a very good book though some of its stories speak more to the topics of a Lovecraftian discussion than others. What direction is this discussion of Lovecraft and Chambers meant to go towards I sense it's a tad aimless currently.
