(Just to get this out of the way, I'm a member who joined back in '09 and am looking to make a come back on here)
Anyway, I did this on another forum, so I thought I would do it on here as well. What are your thoughts on the apocalypse genre of film? Which ones would you recommend.
I personally love apocalypse films, along with fantasy, horror, and indies! They bring the mortality of Man/Earth in such an enlightening and/or entertaining fashion. The irony is that I used to be afraid to watch such films, but now, like with horror films, I really enjoy them.
With that said, here is a list I've compiled of end-of-the-world (EotW) films that I have watched over my lifetime with my personal rating for them (note: not all of them are exactly "apocalyptic", but do reflect the matter in some form or another):
The Last Night - 9/10
Sunshine - 8/10
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - 9/10
