She wrote alot of series that I read when I was a kid, like the Claudi Journals, those four books in the series were my favorites. But as I grew up, I started reading her other books. Out of the more adult books of hers, one that stood out to me was Elephantasm. It really appealed to my fetish delights of blood and pain that are presented by one of my favorite characters of the book. At the same time it delved into history, Indian culture and the depths of people and how they think. The twists of bizarre fantasy make the book a flavorful delight with its conjurations of Indian folklore. The story itself involves all the characters in a layered storyline that will suck you in and keep wanting more until the end. I recommend it personally but it really is for those who have a taste for the author first.

I read her briefly when I was younger, then quite a bit when I was older. I returned to her out of sheer compulsion as her book (one of the Books of Paradys) was the only book I have ever set down in my life because I was intimidated by its mature nature.
Although it's been years since I've read anything by her, I remember her as having an incredibly poetic and beautiful prose. I should look up some more books of hers I haven't read to read.
Thank you for the reminder!
