i got the Call of Cthulhu about a year ago for chistmas and i knew little about him through Metallica i.e: The thing that should not be, the call of Kutulu etc. and i just got it back because i left it at my friends garage. It was all dusty and i looked in it and i knew most of the stuff in it. I can't believe how much i learned from then and now.

Ive been fascinated by Cthulhu for years & can always remember the ways in which people talked of him. Its like the one main piece of the mystical puzzle no one can figure out. How many drunk bikers did I listen to that talked of the Mad Arab & showed me the busted up novel(short story) they read ten years ago. Funny. They too must have always been mystified by Cthulhu.
There are a hell a lot of people who are dragged along by the whisper of the Ancients Ones that "toy" with the idea when left alone. Everyone I knew tried scaring me with it. And it worked! Interesting now when Im a little older to see they all were writing they're own little poems & stories to worship our great Lord. My brother used to write stories inspired by that Metalica song, among others. In fact a lot of heavy metaler's were in the "know" back in the 80's. Maybe its because of the mystique that gathered around the role playing scene that held the Cthulhu mythos true. Pretty much every late 20's to early 40's metaler knew about Cthulhu back then. You could find at least one novel(short story) by HPL in there library.
I remember asking the stupidest questions about Cthulhu of people back then." Whats he made out of that he can travel through outer space without a suit on? Are the other creatures friends of his with similar goals, or are they his children? Does he use laser guns or wear armor to fight his enemies? lol It was interesting listening to people explain there view on it.
Now we have this forum & a connection between us to bring our minds together. What will all this praise of such a Alien & Demonic God bring reality. It must be explored.

I can't remember which way the persons eyes looked when they began to think of Cthulhu. But its that part of their brain that dreams. The imagination it takes to maintain thought on a being like Cthulhu is an interesting part of the brain. It draws on that one power we all love to access & which makes us more than human. Its that storyteller part of us that draws on fantasy. Draws on our reality.
But ya, a lot of unlikely people could talk of Cthulhu back then. Hippies, Bikers, drug dealers, Satanists, conspiracy theorists. Everyone knew about it. Others that knew about Lemuria & Atlantis still seemed to include the Cthulhu mythos in their research. As if it was connected. Which rocked hearing it explained like that. But it was around. It is sunday, but the feel for the beauty & majesty of the Cthulhu mythos & the dent it made in my surroundings growing up was to hard to pass up. Ia Ia brothers & sisters.
All hail the Cult!
