while cool on the surface, unfortunately these books are just the cheap, pulpy paperback versions. so you're going to get an amazingly sweet leather cover to go over less than average paper. that's the only reason i haven't gotten them myself.
why they don't make real hardcovers or leatherbound editions of LaVey's works? i have no idea, i'm sure they'd sell extremely well.
sorry to burst your bubble... still many people would prefer to have their crappy paperback edition Satanic Bible bound in leather than nothing at all.

No prob man. It would be sick if they were just printed in hardcover. But such is the way of things.

I know of someone who's work is to make covers for unique books like if someone wants to bind his family album and stuff like that. Perhaps if there is such a business near you, you can bring your softcovers there to get a better finish. It can be expensive though. If you have some old books to experiment with, you can try to see if you can get a decent result by sticking hard cardboard and fabric to it. I might try it myself, if it works I'll post the best method. (and it would be an occasion to get the only Necronomicon binded in pink and yellow flower pattern! Why? Because THAT sure would inspire awe!) Another option is to make a casing for your book with the style of an ancient big tome. It wouldn't be the real stuff, but in a bookshelf it would look nice. I made one for my portfolio, it's actually just a regular black binder - and a cheap one! - but it has a wooden casing I decorated with bas-relief ( membre.megaquebec.net/youma/Art/sculpt5.jpg) Not the old tome style, alright, but well, that one is MY style. Anyway, these were some suggestions.

As a collector of Occult texts and grimoirs, I have a handful of 'Simon' editions of the Necronomicon...and I wouldn't mind having one of the original run printings that came in a very ornate hardcover format.
Unfortunately this is just a service which makes their own bdindings and covers for books... I suppose it's nice for aesthetic value, and perhaps adding a bit of atmosphere to the right ritual, but I can't see spending that much for something with no more magical or collector value than a $5 paperback.
