news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20101201/sc_livescience/babynamesrevealmoreaboutparentsthaneverbeforeThought this was a good article. Might buy the book mentioned too, The Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Age of Entitlement. Thanks to Scarlet Princess for emailing me the link.
Are we moving towards a more individualistic paradigm? Or is the recent diversity of names merely a reaction to the internet and globalization? Does this realization have any impact on the Left Hand Path? I also thought it was telling that a baby's name is one of the few things not influenced by corporations. But will this always be the case? What if the corporate takeover of America can't be halted?

It is obvious that today's paradigm is much more individualistic than before, but the trend is unclear ; I expect very big changes in the future.
I think the names are influenced by corporations, too... the name of personages of TV serials are influencing...
Let Scarlet Princess choose carefully ! A name is important. Don't you think that phonetic of a name is influencing a life ? I do.
Belief is reality.

Indeed, I see big changes ahead too.
Yes, there is a subtle influence by corporations which still makes an impression upon all human beings.
Yes, but I also believe that a life can influence the presentation and power of a word. For instance, when you hear the name Clint you get a certain association. That's probably because of Clint Eastwood who had such an impact on reality, that his presence re-writes the connotations of that name. Before me, Venger was most associated with a cartoon villain on the 1980's Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. I willed it into something new.
