Welcome to the forum.
What to do? Forget your dreams; stop worrying about them. In fact, 99% of our dreams and impressions from life are of no concern. All of us are asleep, all of the time. Concentrate on the here and now, who you are, who you really are beneath the surface, and how that machine is not currently Awake!
We think we're special, but we're not. As we are, there is nothing about us that is useful or worth carrying with us. Drop whatever it is, let it go. Only when our second evolution has begun can we see anything in ourselves which could be considered fruitful.
When you are asleep and dreaming, nothing can be done. You are at the mercy of neurons firing randomly; the universe is having its way with you. If you cannot stop yourself from (day) dreaming, then at least have the presence of mind to wave each and everyone of those useless impressions away. They cannot help you, only keep you rooted in sleep.

In my lifetime, I've had hundreds of dreams like the one you described. Didn't mean a darn thing in the grand scheme of things.
If you wouldn't mind indulging me, I'd like you try purposefully not day dreaming for an extended period of time. In all seriousness, doing this and this alone would be a huge step in the right direction, a true breakthrough.

Yes, daydreaming is part of our normal state of waking sleep.
Daydreaming, drifting, automation, living in imagination, sleeping... all this is part of generally accepted reality. What we try to do in the Cthulhu Cult is understand whatever is beneath our false reality so we can live as consciously as possible there, in that realm.
Does that make sense?

Dread Cthulhu can be as real or tangible as you like. It's your belief, and no one can restrict what you believe.
Was Dread Cthulhu imagined or invented by HPL? In the end, does it really matter? An argument could be made either way. Again, it's your personal belief system which provides the architecture for these concepts.
You can occasionally hear me speaking it on youtube. Several of my videos include that phrase. Here's how I pronounce it Ee-ya Ee-ya Kuh-thool-hoo fah-tahg-n.
