After/during reading Liber A:O, I immediately began practicing the awakening and self-rememberance techniques. I learned a lot about myself and my surounding within days. I integrated it in my daily meditations. After a week I did the Ritual of the Old Ones from the CoC website, and now the feeling we get from self remembering is quite more natural and "reality" feels even more alien. With discipline, it is relatively easy to attain a state of cold calm, understanding that most negative emotions are absurds and useless; they are the fruit of uncontrolled "I"s.
These 4th ways method are really useful in speeding up the cultist's Ascent, I thus recommend both CoC bible to magickians of any paradigm.

I'm just starting to check out these texts but I wish I could hold the real book in my hand... I've started since a couple of weeks to get into the rituals of the elders and now I feel like one with the surrounding forces, even more than before.

Yet self-remembering get, like meditations, harder when doing extended practice.

The books are for sale, but the pdf's are also available to work with if you need a hard-print copy.

I've begun practicing the techniques as well. It's almost like clarity & brain static at the same time. I can almost feel reality tugging at me while I work to assert my will over it & then my brain flies off on one fancy or another & I have to force it back to attentiveness. The 4th Way techniques have been invaluable for me.

I know what you mean.
After doing a ritual. I feel like I've zoned out. My mind is deep in thought, but the world around me just doesn't seem to matter. It's just me thinking.

The world itself really doesn't matter. Once we recognize the fact that it is an amalgam of our own & other people's perceptions thrown together into a melange we are supposed to swallow as "reality", then we are getting somewhere. The more I apply mindfulness to myself & actually take a second to observe what's going on around me or in a situation objectively, the more of the whole picture I see & the less my own narrow view affects it. One might say this is that same narrow view & I am deluding myself into believing that I am applying it more holistically, but the proof is in the results. The more I've applied these techniques & all that I've learned from the Cthulhu Cult & Liber A:O, the less apt I've been to lose my temper & act in a reactionary fashion. I haven't been perfect at it, but I actually catch myself now as I'm doing it & am able to stop it if it is not the way I want to address a situation. I am working toward being able to catch myself before I react automatically in all situations as that is the goal Master Satanis & the Fourth Way aim us towards.
I've also felt a great deal more joy of late. My mood has been much more positive & my approach to life has been that of assumed victory as opposed to assumed defeat. It makes all the difference in the world when one chooses their burdens instead of choosing to feel they have been thrust upon you. My job is not aesthetically pleasing to me, but I have chosen to accept it due to the fact that it allows me to provide for myself & my family which is another task I have chosen to take upon myself. Being that these are conscious choices, how can I get angry at them & what happens in relation to them as they are my choices. These are very mundane examples & some may ask what these have to do with one's journey to Awakening/Ascension or magickal work, but allow me to say that when one takes conscious interest & control in their own lives, then every action becomes sorcerous. Master Satanis inspired this thought in the discussion about the new forum rules & posting protocols. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense not only in occult or literary pursuits, but in every moment & in every breath.

I've started since a couple of weeks to get into the rituals of the elders and now I feel like one with the surrounding forces, even more than before. This is exactly why i printed out a study copy of the A:O! I put it in a notebook with page protectors and highlighted like crazy! Awake!

If I had a printer I would do the same, I know I am going to be purchasing the hard copies in the near future for study offline. Might get a nice notebook and use it to take notes as well.

Liber Null and also liber kaos are both very good for getting quick results especially in making quick sigils. I highly recommend trying the Chaoschamber cd's and the Cthonos meditations as they are very potent and go even deeper into chaos magick then the books do.

This may seem likw a random dumb question. I thought all magicans kept personal books for creating rituals and taking notes. Maybe it is one of the few things I carried through my pagan years.
