We are about to be ad-free again, but before Proboards recognizes the credits I just purchased in order to keep this forum advertisement free, maybe we should all take a good, hard look at ourselves. Ask the only real question worth asking, "what am I doing for myself, for the Cult, for Master Satanis and our Priests of R'lyeh?"
If you guys think life is difficult now, then you're no where near ready to start the real Work. Because that is virtually impossible without going the full 9 yards. I'm talking blood, sweat, and tears. Busting ass day and night. Discipline, commitment, will. At this moment I only see a small handful of Messengers, Heralds, and Wizards going maybe 7 yards, if we're lucky. I get tired of picking up the slack sometimes.
After June of 2010, I'm forever done paying to have these discussion boards advertisement free. And I've also had enough with the posts that don't really have any substantial content, the introductions that lead me to believe people are finally taking an interest and then disappear, as well as, all the replies of congratulations. Sure, I love to hear "nice job" the same as anyone else, but it doesn't get to the good stuff. Posts like that don't open doors, break seals, and crash through gateways. And I'm especially sick of all the lurkers content to sit back and watch the goats dance. You're already here... tomorrow isn't going to be any sweeter, next week won't give itself over to you like a voracious muse. Post something so I at least know you're alive if not entirely conscious.
Things need to change. Struggle to be that change or come back when you're tired of being a machine.
Awake!

I agree with you Master Satanis. I myself have put off any kind of personal purchases until I get my goals at least a fourth of the way met. I hit financial snags ever so often such as work materials that I have to save up for, but I am not letting anything stop me. I WILL have a place for myself and others that so desire to come and do rituals, meditate, freak out in peace, or whatever. It is a huge project, but most things that are worth a shit in life requires time, effort and dedication. Sometimes I get impatient but I stop, take a deep breath and FOCUS on what I am aiming for. Hopefully this will help promote COC's growth. Once this is accomplished, I plan to hold weekly classes with the teachings of COC as well as some kind of Left Hand Path classes. If I can help anyone in any way, please do not hesitate to email me. Awake!

Ask the only real question worth asking, "what am I doing for myself, for the Cult, for Master Satanis and our Priests of R'lyeh?" Wow, I'm put on the spot. I will consider this very valid, and important question; and, come back with a reponse very shortly, Lord Venger...
Do you mean things on a personal level; or, on a forum way level, or, in a whole cult level; in regards to change, Lord Venger?

Our High Priest raises an excellent point...it is called "The Work" for a reason!
I will admit that I have not put as much into The Work as I could. But I know I am not alone in this *glances about at fellow cultists*. But, I have been doing much as far as spreading the Tentacle to others I know.
Venger Satanis, you may need to purge the Cult of all dead weight. In the coming weeks, examine your Cult. Notice the contributors and the cancers equally. Do what you must.

Take it holistically. One level reinforces and even builds upon the others. All work, correct Work that is, is interrelated.
Any dead weight attached to the Cult of Cthulhu will eventually fall away.
I've been reading a new book on physical training and it is quite inspirational. The following is from the invaluable tome, Beyond Brawn by Stuart McRobert, Chapter 9 entitled Hard Work - The Biggest Test of Training Character.
Once you are in the new ground stretch of a cycle you will find out whether you really want bigger muscles or only think you want them. You will find out how much control you have over a protesting body, how much willpower and self-discipline you have, how much tolerance of exercise-induced discomfort you possess, how much you enjoy post-workout muscle soreness, and how much hard-gainer grit and character you have.
You have got to want muscle and might so much that you cannot live without them. You must relish driving yourself to deliver what it takes. You have to be a hard-training junkie.
When you are battling into new ground you will discover one of the principal reasons why there are so few well-built hard gainers around - because intensive training is such hard work, and so few people deliver it on a consistent basis.
No matter how good your program design is, and no matter how well you attend to recovery factors, it will all go to waste if you do not have the foerocious passion needed to train hard on a consistent basis.
Delivering effort demands guts, will power and determination in abundance. It is about pushing your body to go further, then a bit further still, and a bit further again, always done safely and with good exercise form. It is the slow but steady accumulation of the "bit more" that adds up to substantial gains.
It demands enormous determination to keep pushing yourself hard time after time. No supplement, routine, gym, equipment, diet, writer, personality, course, book, seminar, video, or whatever else exists to get you to drive yourself hard in the gym on a regular basis. The buck stops with you. Only you can push yourself through the discomfort of hard training - again and again. A good training partner or supervisor can be a great help for extracting growth-stimulating extra effort from you, but you need to have the ability to be able to train that hard by yourself.
Hopefully it's clear to all of you that the above quote can be applied to a lot more than just physical training. It has magical, esoteric, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, creative, and even sexual applications. While, you'd have to be Superman in order to pursue all those aspects of yourself that relentlessly, it is possible to at least focus on three. Even if a single aspect is treated with such ambitious energy, that change would significantly improve your results... and therefore your entire life.

Take it holistically. One level reinforces and even builds upon the others. All work, correct Work that is, is interrelated. Ah, very true...All aspects contribute to the whole. Indeed, it can...That is most insightful. Sadly, no Superman here. Yet, I think that 3 portions of that group is most do-able. And, as you posted above; it all builds upon the others.
