I give you, the Court of the Yellow King: yellowcourt.weebly.comIf you are fond of the KiY, I'm sure you'll enjoy it (as far as it's gone anyway). Otherwise, you could use it to get a better grasp on what I'm about, I dare say even what We are about (royal We). Soon I'll be delving a bit deeper into things there, so stay tuned. Also, I have taken the time to post a link to here, I'm sure you'll enjoy the added sentiment: yellowcourt.weebly.com/others.html~G'pock R'han

From the "others" section of the website: Our Cousins...
Cult of C'thulhu - www.cultofcthulhu.net/ Overall very nice people, though the management is a bit on the negative side (you're sleeping too much, you keep forgetting yourself, stop picking your nose...the usual pessimism). They strive to live the philosophies of the Left Hand path (google it), and are close enough in ideology and theme to us that working together with them is favorable to our own occupations.
C'mon... is the "usual pessimism" really what you found here? Don't we have at least our own special brand of pessimism, or maybe what could be seen as a "realistic" optimism? After all, we all "sleep too much", but we suggest that there is the potential to awaken. We all "keep forgetting" ourselves, but we encourage all to remember.
Your picking your nose is just gross, especially as you do it to a point that your nostril bleeds.
Just saying...

Well, humor, in my opinion, is the best medicine. And if I prepare the visitors from my site for the worst, they'll be pleasantly surprised when they encounter the much happier, fluffier, slimier version that actually exists.

You did not appreciate the humor in my response? Perhaps mine is too fine of instrument, or yours too blunt.
It is an odd way to describe a friend to others, the way you "prepare the visitors" from your site for "the worst" which, by your statement, they should expect to find here. It would be akin to saying, "my friend Tom is a real asshole and a bit of a bore, if you want to meet him here is where he is". I would think most people would rather choose to avoid Tom.
It is almost like you are suggesting that your efforts are validated by the Cult of Cthulhu, but you in fact do not validate our own. Odd thing for a friend to do. I think the term for such a thing is a "back-handed" compliment.
I will enjoy reading your site when it is more than just a promise of things to come and an ambiguous introduction of an unformed idea. I am certain it will be interesting reading.

It was wonderfully sardonic. I'll confess that my need for approval kicked in just now, but I was able to shoo it away before I started typing. The real question is, "Is Tom a real asshole and a bit of a bore?" Is he? I don't think it really matters, there is one defining quality among the followers of the King in Yellow and that is an unnatural curiosity, so a minor thing like "the usual pessimism" isn't going to hold them back. Why does the Cult of Cthulhu need validation? Does it not stand on its own merits? The Court of the Yellow King need only be validated by the presence of its King, nothing else is needed. Aside from the petty aside on the link page I was very direct and informative, and no where on the website, in my opinion, do I use the Cult as a validation point, if anything I made it clear that the Cult is useful and therefore worth the Court member's time. I only promised two things: a book that goes into greater depth about the religion and my own version of "The King in Yellow". I understand how you might feel otherwise however, as you do not have a personal relationship with The Last King. I would say anyone who does not know the King is reading the wiki entry and those who do are watching the movie. It's not an excuse, I will be adding to the website as time goes on, but I wonder if it will ever match your qualifications, which are vague at best. We could, for an easy example, compare it to this site, and if that is the case-well, I shouldn't be far off the mark, but you make it sound like some great task; isn't fulfilling promises the hardest work of all?

I'll get on it. Oh, and this G'pock Rhan seems to have left behind his Lovecraftian influence, so you and I might be the only two focussed on that aspect.

The stars are always right. And that's right, I have mostly divested Lovecraft from my Hasturian philosophy-I'm still fond of the tentacle bits. It would be a bit redundant if I didn't, seeing as this site caters to Lovecraftian horror quite famously.
