I'll be posting this in several different locations within the forum to make certain it is seen by all interested parties.
The Green Trapezoid “newsletter” is about to make its triumphant return under new management. My vision for The Green Trapezoid is that it first serves the existent members by keeping them abreast of what is going on in the Cult of Cthulhu by providing announcements about Cult of Cthulhu projects, member advancements, member activities, and drawing from the discussion forums (a kind editor's pick or “best of” the forum posts during a particular period). The Green Trapezoid will also inform and entertain members and non-members alike with articles explaining The Work, Viridian Magic and Occult Science, and reviews of products/films/music/books of interest .
The January issue will include part one of a series discussing the exercises of The Work, a horror-film review section, the scoop on the Cult of Cthulhu efforts in Austin, Texas, a statement from the editor, and possibly some words from High Priest Venger Satanis himself! This will be a quarterly journal, at least initially, with the potential for more issues being added depending on readership and submissions.
That means The Green Trapezoid needs your submissions and input, both to make this webzine the best it can possibly be AND to increase its frequency. I need articles, fiction, poetry, research, artwork, and reviews. If you have a project that you have been documenting then this is your forum to share your dark aspirations and the manifestation of your horrid will upon reality! Cultists should be all about action, and The Green Trapezoid is where that action should be chronicled!
Submissions for the January issue MUST be in by 01/20/2010. The issue will be released to the public 01/31/2010. The second issue will follow 04/01/2010, and submissions for that issue need to be in by 03/15/2010. The following issues will be 07/01/2010 and 10/01/2010. with submission due dates on the 15th of the month prior to the release. Submitted material will be considered property of The Green Trapezoid and the Cult of Cthulhu, however we will strive to acknowledge and promote your effort in every manner possible, so include your email and URLs!
I also intend for The Green Trapezoid to become a financially self-sustaining project. The regular publication will be on-line and free to all, with the option for readers to donate to the cause. From the submitted materials I intend to publish anthologies for sale to the public to generate the funds that will pay for the domain name and maintenance of the website. Just letting you folks know where we are headed. Get your submissions in and get ready to see The Green Trapezoid reach ever greater depths.
Send your submissions to sorrellart@hotmail.com . Include in the subject field "green trapezoid" to avoid your submission getting lost in the shuffle.
