OK. Another really old and incomplete article that I figured would be nice to share. This covers some things that many of us oldschool glitterbombers have fucked with in the snow. The first part is a less permanent way of doing geo-glyphs. In general, these methods were designed as an exercise in using whatever conditions were at hand. The use of icy conditions is pretty important around here. Note: These methods work quite fine in the sand and or some, even better. Anyway, here you go...
Snow Sigils...
I was walking along and saw a field covered in snow. Not unusual since it was winter and we get quite a bit of it around here. I had been tagging that night. Not unusual because I use my meager graf writing skills as a medium for magick, quite a bit. There it was. A blank surface covering about half an acre. I had several projects in mind but this crazy idea wouldn't stop tugging at my consciousness. There was a tree on the edge of this little field. I climbed it and manoeuvered myself to a position well over the field but far away from any apparent walkway.
I had indeed already thought of the sigil I needed and mentally plotted out how big it must be. I began to walk the sigil, tracing out the design over most of this field. There was something powerful in the crunching of the ice beneath my feet and it created a pleasant rhythym. Packing down the snow raised my heart rate and established a breath pattern, unique to this sigil. Once I established the design and it looked good, I walked it with INTENT. That is to say, I walked the pattern once while focusing on what I wanted and then... I emptied myself of desire and walked it as a labrynthe. Over and over this occured. I have no idea how many times. All that mattered was the journey. Deep, deep into this labrynthine sigil I travelled until I knew I had reach my core. Then, I simply made my way back out and opon reaching the tree, I climbed out of the snow sigil and over to the nearest sidewalk...
It worked beautifully! The design, spread out over such a vast distance, was lovely as well. I plan on using this technique more often this year. It makes for good, random Blaire-Witchery too. I most always try to not leave footprints. This adds to the wonderousity factor. That is to say, people will appreciate the end result more and thus continue to power up the sigil. It's not difficult to do. Try using tarps or plywood if you find that climbing is impractical.
Labrynth walking is a long established practice. Geoglyphs have been with us for thousands of years as well (Just check out the Nazca lines). What? You thought crop circles were new? This, is my icy variation in combining these two traditions of antiquity. This is Winter Wyzardry...

Snow Servitors
Frosty the snowman, was a very... POWERFUL ICE GOLEM!
We see them in front yards and in parks. Snowmen are a regular sight at this time of year. Many of us use a physical link to our living creations of thought. It occured to me one day, (or was it night?) that one could use such a thing and avoid certain problems that many report.
Snow is quite maleable. The creation of the physical basis for a servitor of snow is limited by one's imagination and level of commitment to the work. You can shape it into any form that you Will. Of course others may watch you ice sculpting this creature but this may actually ADD to it's power. While chanting it's name under one's breath, fashion it and repeat it's function every so often as part of a mantra. Pour yourself into the shaping of your desire and this living statue of ice and Will. Of course, if you will, place an activating sigil on it's form somewhere. If things go wrong, remove the sigil.
Here is where you get some extra juice: People tend to look at snowmen and appraise it. Allow for this in it's creation. The focus of their gaze acts as a battery. The timeframe it has to comple it's task is simple: It lives until the next thaw...
Much, much more...
Try charging water with intent and set it out to freeze; thus solidifying your desire. Or for that matter, charge a piece of ice and toss it into a body of moving water, so as it melt,s your intent is released to do it's thing. Icicles as wands... The options are many. White Witch of Narnia anyone?

I hope this quick little ramble is of some use to someone else. I've mentioned a few things that have worked for me and would love to hear about the experiments of others! Please, try some of these and expand on them.
