i'm glad Cora'Sahn went to the trouble of creating this idea of a "job list". i tweaked some of the titles to encompass all the work that needs to be done. these are non-paying volunteer positions (at least for right now). don't sign up for one of these if it's likely that you'll be overwhelmed. i recommend sticking to your natural talents, of course, stretching oneself can also be beneficial.
obviously, we don't just want a single Head-hunter or Instigator; some roles are meant for many people. others, like VS's personal assistant or Cthulhu social network Manager, will probably go to an individual. when i think of a new position, i'll post it on this thread.
any questions, comments, or suggestions... just ask!
Personal Assistant to Venger Satanis - coordinates directly with me. takes care of the things i don't have time to handle myself. must be organized and energetic!
CoC Newsletter Editor - finds / produces the content and will make sure The Green Trapezoid gets sent out regularly.
Website Design and Management - an extremely important position, needs to be familiar with html and all the other website building/updating languages, codes, systems, etc. tinkering around with free sites and templates doesn't count for this job. previous experience and resume required.
Forum Moderator - management of our discussion boards here.
Advertising / Promoting / Marketing - getting our message out.
Cthulhu (ning) social network Manager - keeps an eye on the place, welcomes people after joining, and recruits new people to sign-up for our social network.
Public Relations - dealing with the media and their understanding of the CoC.
Networking - communicating with individuals, small groups, and larger organizations who might benefit the CoC.
Head-Hunter - seeking new members.
Grotto Overseer - keeps an eye on all the Grottoes, sees to their needs, and facilitates their progress.
Instigator - incites enthusiasm, gets people talking, arguing... a provocateur and rabble-rouser.

good question, Instigator B'Lahk'Neeth.
for now, i think individuals should stick to one role and focus on that. a single position combined with your own Self-Remembering, magical, and everyday life pursuits should keep anyone extremely busy.

Is there some concept of salary in relation to these "jobs", or they are mainly voluntary?. I don't want to sound greedy, but working for free is sometimes depressing.
I would like to help but always in a voluntary basis, not because it is my duty to do it. So I think I don't want a CoC job soon.

yeeeeeaaaaah get stoooooked!!! already calling me by my new LEGIT title!!! i love you, HP!!!
before i knew anything about the LHP or even started on my journey into the realm of magick and the esoteric, i was toying with the notion that i was fundamentally different than everyone i knew, that i had the physical DNA of a human, of my father and mother, but that i also had a "spiritual" father, a Demon. sometimes i think "insane" thoughts.
anyway, i was creating my own mythology, that there were others like my self in the world, here to herald the apocalypse, the new age, all Demon-born with different roles to play in the systematic destruction of this world. i deemed myself and my role an "Annoyer"... keep in mind this is like fucking three or four years ago i was creating this tale... and you know what, HP?
my Annoyer is and does the EXACT same fucking thing as your Instigator.
now hows THAT for some crazy shit, right?
so... my little tale told, can you expound upon my new duties? where do begin? oh my many-tentacled god, im going to fucking rock at this. i was BORN for this! if i can do one thing well, its using words, especially those written, to shut down and demoralize people. always had the knack. this is gonna be fuckin FUN!
so yes yes, please HP... fill me in a bit more?

One thing you did not mention VS, is 'How' one applies. Were you going to go with the 'application' idea or should members just private message you?
I just thought of one: Tentacles Job description: COC think tank, expanding the reach of the COC's ideologies, goals, and applications.
i.e. this idea, is a job for a Tentacle.

i am sorry, my greed got the better of me. I am looking for a paying job right now, so I thought that I may be having a chance here. Maybe i could get some non-paying volunteer position in here, but I still need a paying job somewhere.

indeed, i and many others belonging to the Cult have had similar visions!
there's no manual, so use your instinct or intuition. try groups, websites, or individuals with similar interests... who might have something to gain by aligning with the CoC. are there websites that cater to Satanism, the Left Hand Path, Lovecraft, the 4th way, esotericism? make contact and see what happens.
a little stumbling along the way is perfectly natural. after awhile, you'll get the hang of it.
yes, just apply by contacting me in some way.
as for expanding the reach, ideological concerns, goals, and applying what we know to the real world... that's what the higher degrees are all about. whoever wants to work on such things should apply (again, just contact me) about becoming a Wizard of the Terrible Darkness. after some observation and a few tests, the prospect can enter this second inner degree of our Cult. however, those members should be prepared to work.

ok, a few suggestions...
Instigators will find fertile ground in places that have a high volatility ratio... or places that already despise us, like the 600 club forum, Satannet, and Yog-Sothoth.com
Public Relations people might try e-zines that need dark/weird content. email them to set up an interview with me or another CoC member. or have someone on their staff review Cthulhu Cult for their publication.
Networkers believe in sharing resources. our tools, like the forum here, can help others while celebrity endorsement, for instance, could help us (still waiting for my call-back from Paris Hilton).
you might talk to members of other LHP groups, see if they want to join us and become an official CoC Grotto or maybe a few people in some other sect have outgrown 'talking things to death' and instead want to belong to an organization that takes action. this would also get into Head-Hunter territory.

would there be any kind of rank within the jobs, HP? or is the title an army of grunts and you're the general?
as in, would there be a head Instigator that could coordinate attacks on message boards, etc... or the same for PR, perhaps a head of PR could make formulate and make sure the major talking points are adhered to, schedule interviews, work with you on what information is presented to whom and the like, and make sure all PRs know this and are qualified official voices of the CoC.

eventually, there might be a ranking system. for now, the degree system already in place will have to suffice. when in doubt, just ask me. no one is expected to be perfect. just like a religion that's been around for centuries or a country's political infrastructure, the CoC will eventually need many positions filled so that things run smoothly.
in my blog (which i haven't updated in awhile... just been too busy) i have the vague, beginning sketches of a Supreme Council. the name might eventually change, but the purpose will undoubtedly remain the same... a body of Cultists who can advise the High Priest and keep things in line. (too bad the Church of Satan's Council of 9 couldn't have averted the disastrous leadership and unfortunate direction after LaVey died).
additionally, here are the traits that should be nurtured in us all...
The Nine Ideal Attributes of a Cultist
Loyalty: Faithfulness to commitments, obligations, and leadership. Unswerving adherence to the cause.
Nobility: The quality of one's character. Noble individuals are rare, dignified, gracious, honorable, exalted, and refined. Such Cultists go above and beyond the ordinary.
Ambition: An earnest desire for achievement, distinction, attainment. Lust for power and the determination to go after it. Not being satisfied with what one has. The opposite of complacency.
Aggression: Taking action! Initiating hostile actions towards our enemies. Not backing down, even when surrounded by antagonists.
Humility: Understanding how pride and ego can be self-destructive to our evolution. The quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one’s own importance.
Sense of Humor: The ability to see the cosmic absurdity that surrounds us. A sense of humor diffuses the negativity which builds up inside and poisons us.
Vision: Uncanny and imaginative foresight. Seeing beyond the mundane, enthusiastically grasping for what could be. The courage to assume one's destiny.
Open Mindedness: Having a mind receptive to new ideas, concepts and arguments. the CoC paradigm is incongruous to the illusionary world. Most people don't want to give up their illusions; these individuals are close minded.
Individuality: Not afraid to be oneself. Thinking, speaking, and acting not as the masses, but as one's essence demands. Becoming a unique being, accentuating differences.

My recent prolonged inactivity is due to my severe lack of free time lately. I only have time for instigator or maybe forum moderator. Actually no, I'm not very good at moderating. I'm better at imploding forums, not upkeeping them. I am familiar with 4chan, after all.

I will help in recruiting. Possibly a grotto very soon in the dirty south. I will also instigate when I can, lol ! This is good to have an organizational job list. We should get our stuff together now instead of later, since we are in the early stages of development.

i would be happy to be any representative you need from where i am here in washington. I have alot of free time on my hands and a library card thus i could become well versed in anything that is public realm
You said something about needing people to be apart of some organized entity so that you could finish paperwork and go non profit.
I have dreams of maintaining a temple and I am open to facilitating in any way my currently poor ass can from way out here in cold watery washington.
I am in Tacoma, between the capital and the major city Seattle.
I have been inactive because i am not a forum person, always been a 'chatter' in irc rooms email and instant message progs.
I watched your vids on your pages and they gave me a smile, but all and all I am into a much more beautiful picture of this world and the major art of these beings is quite raw and dark.
I'm certainly not complaining as the beings themselves are what interest me. Those things that they represent are massive unconcious and primal urges. They are the deepest shadow and they like the octopus branch out grasping at everything.
So shoot me an email venger. I'll be visiting Wisconsin this summer and will make sure to give you a smile with a handshake.
Be well

just letting people know about what we're doing is a big help. yes, when you're in WI, let me know and we'll hang out.

I am more than willing to give my time to the CoC. I want nothing more than to see our cult grow and flourish. I hope to eventualy oversee a grotto here in Ottawa, but that is a "long term" goal. For now I want to do whatever I can to contribute to the cult. Perhaps I could be a mod here on the forums, or anything else that might be needed.

haha, every forum that offers people the chance to become moderators always have a few people wanting to be one. I personally don't understand what the apparent fascination with it is, i guess power and control. We already have two moderators, sure thamiels out, but the gates of R'lyeh couldn't hold MG from getting on the forum We don't exactly have an over swelling of posts, so Madguten and Venger pretty much have it covered. Venger would likely put on more moderators when they're needed, so start posting more its almost dulled lately

Some things I can offer to assist both the Cult of Cthulhu and its members: I publish "The Brimstone Chronicle" twice annually. It is meant to be a creative outlet for Satanists and the Left Hand Path. I am always looking for writiers and artists to contribute their work for publication. Issue 4 will have an interview with Venger, but any material would be welcomed. Fiction, poetry, ritual research, history, philosophy, art, whatever. I would like to feature one or two artists per issue. Check out www.myspace.com/brimstonechronicle Creative Oddities Studios was originally meant to be a collaborative effort, but it took a while to figure out what formula would work best. TC Downey and I have finally seemed to get it right. Basically, my site has become a hub for other artists who are promoting themselves and are interested in being promoted. Each member promotes the group; there are no costs and no shared profits. You maintain your own site and your own merchandising...you just actively cross-promote the site. If your interested, visit www.creativeodditiesstudios.com and click on the "artwork" tab on the main page. I've gotten pretty good at the cafepress.com merhcandising and the lulu.com publishing. If you have questions about merchandising your work, shoot me an email. I am not talking about publishing your work through my publication branch or merchandising you through my shop...your better off doing your own thing...but I can provide solid advise and guidance. In Austin, I am starting to come into contact with other Satanists; I get an email or a message every couple of months now from someone wanting to meet. If your in the area and want to start meeting regularly, I am up for the effort. Venger asked for art...art is on the way. It has given me an excuse to break out my airbrush.
