my largish website update goes to the web designers tomorrow night. that will include a list of the presenters we have so far on the C2C page.
so if you or anyone else can think of any last minute guests to mention, email me. of course, that doesn't mean new presenters won't be used days before the con if they are suitable... just that the time to advertise is fast approaching.

VS Gotcha. I have a ceremonialist in mind, I only need to convince him to take the trip with me. He's been practicing since early childhood, and he's both teacher and student. I was thinking something along the lines of 'Anatomy of Ceremonialism'. He's been using aspects of the Cthulhu mythos for a long time. Hell, even his staff is called Azathoth. I thought that was fantastic, because I didn't know that until he joined the grotto. Thoughts?

VS I've made a request, I'll keep you posted. He's making a job change, and is concerned about not being able to take the time off. I'll touch base again as we get closer to the event.

ok, not much time left. if you haven't yet, start thinking about attending, getting your money into me, arranging your accommodations, and telling others.
so, let's get the word out!

Did you put a local ad out in the paper or local stores that attract possible cultists?

good news, it looks like a local horror movie screening team will be plying their trade during C2C. i gleaned their interest in the convention and its promotion after winning their horror trivia contest.
also, do you still have that C2C flyer you could send me? i looked for it at that link earlier in the thread and the PDF has since disappeared. i'm attending one of their screenings this Saturday, so sometime in the next couple days would be great. thanks!

due to the lacking attendance, i'm hoping to re-coup my overhead expenses another way...
i'm offering a black ink on green paper handmade transcription of the 2009 May Eve ritual. it's 4 pages handwritten and i know that it's hard to decipher what i'm saying because of the drum and various noises.
support the CoC by sending me $20 and i'll mail you a souvenir keepsake of that loathsome rite, signed by me. if i can get close to the $600 i spent on renting the convention room space, that would be cool.

sure, i'll email you photos. that was definitely an emerald lining of C2C.
ah, yes. um... well? i was hoping to avoid this conversation, but hey can't hide from the truth. actual non-presenting, non-close friend attendees who were at the convention for more than a couple hours on Friday night? none.
hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhahahahahahahhahahahaha hahahahahahahhaaaaa hahahahahaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaa hhaaaaaahhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
none! hahaaaha... not one, none. none, damn us all. NONE!!!
however, there were a few presenters, close friends who live in Sun Prairie or Madison, and three curious people who came for a couple hours Friday night more for support than a genuine interest in our paradigm; i didn't even have the heart to charge these people a nominal fee because at that point my spirit was quite broken.
however, that is not dead which can eternal lie and with strange aeons even death may die. i am stronger now for having lived through the ordeal. no matter what the universe throws at me, i prosper because of my devotion to the Old Ones. events forced me to re-examine the Cult and its mission... its eldritch mandate, if you will. i shall rise from the ashes of C2C's failure.

Venger As'Nas Satanis Cult of Cthulhu High PriestThat actually ties into my article on the CoC objective. So there were presenters and friends to support the event - but no attendees. Similar to how the forum operates - why are only a select few active and on a regular basis. The forum has over 1000 members! I would write a brutally honest review if I were you, I don't think it should be an embarrassment but rather an eye opener. In lieu of self-examination; voice some thoughts on why that is. 1. What could we have done as a group? 2. What could you have done better? 3. Making suggestions is great, but how many were taken seriously? 4. Could it have been planned to give more time to advertise? etc. When I was on the LMI Board of Directors, when we did an event, we had a meeting the closing day to discuss the following year's and started the ball rolling then. 12 month planning would give you more time to spread the word, raise funds for advertising, attract bigger presenters, etc. It's all live and learn - isn't it? As for next year's attendees - there are ways to help us plan as a group to attend this event. Motivating each other with goals to reach and such. Budget planning Travel Sharing

at the moment, i think a thorough evaluation is too soon. but it seems clear that there's a lot more work to be done. the Cult needs serious results as a whole, in my opinion. until we are regarded as one of the most powerful and prolific LHP organizations in the world, i don't think there's any point in organizing another convention.
having said that, i think there's a definite possibility of reaching that level by Walpurgisnacht 2011. keep struggling!

Sorry it didnt work out the way you wanted it to. This is why I never make plans. Cant be disapointed then.
A wiccan friend of mine tried to organise a small pagan festival called the 'Dragon moon festival'. I had a stall selling pagan and Mythos art. Others sold jewelry and such. She struggled with it for about 3 years. Each year it was the same. No one came but those she knew despite months of advertising and I didnt sell a single painting. We would all end up just getting drunk and stoned and end up fucking. So I guess it was a small success.

that was such a beautiful story, dude. i believe it's important not to be too attached to a particular outcome. note the distinction because it's an important one. plans/goals are vital, but if they don't come right away (or at all), then formulate a new or revised plan/goal.

VS Understood. June's issue could leave out the C2C convention and continue focus on the cult itself. What do you think? At this point, I have (3) contributions for the issue. Did you want to contribute something?
