Thank you :-) Red....mmm yeah, red in every room in my house. I love red, it's my fave color. They always say that red provokes agitation and anger, bah! It makes me feel grooooovvvvy. :-) This might give you an idea... Nice place, Cora!

VS I used two mediums: Acrylic paint Modge-podge glue Prepped the canvas with a layer of scrub, this is a sea sponge dipped in a neutral color acrylic paint. I use a circular motion to cover the canvas. This gives it 'texture'. I painted a rough sketch of the subject, (I have pictures of this I should have posted them). Then, filled it in with a dark brown. I just kept layering the paint, color over color: Black Brown Rust Bronze Gold White Red Burgandy These are the colors I used. Once I had the main figure relatively set, I concentrated on the background. I layered (4) layers of paint, gold, bronze, beige, and rust. I then worked in the hand-prints, and symbols. I modge-podge over that, then 'rolled' another scrub over it. This I did with a small sponge roller. The modge-podge has glitter in it, so some of that comes through in the paint. I allowed that to dry, and did a mix (yellow/brown/bronze) and rolled that over everything. It's not complete, I'll be working on it more this week to have it completed by the weekend. It is a commissioned piece.

The hand-prints are mine. I did them in the background, as well as over the heart of the subject.
This is called 'The Obsessed' for a reason. *cough* ex-husband, *cough*.

VS I've been looking around, this particular pendant only appars to come in gold. If I come accross some silver ones, I'll most def buy them.

I worked on the painting some more. After much begging and pleading (and I upped the price) the ex gave me a down-payment :-P Apparently, it's so awesome he simply must have it. lol

After much begging and pleading (and I upped the price) the ex gave me a down-payment :-P Apparently, it's so awesome he simply must have it. lol Just wondering; is the slumbering woman in the "man's" brain representive of you...And, therefore, your ex's "obsession"? Or, is it just a generic woman? Also, enjoyed the jewelry; but I was wondering what the small triangular "pendulums" in your cthulhu pendants representative of...Or, if you just have them because they were interesting to you?

Great questions.
Yes, I am the woman.
The triangular pendants I chose as sort of a dowsing pendulum, in lieu of the symbolism. I was torn between these and a 4 dimensional piece. I selected this one, because while the front is seen, the back is 'missing' leaving to the imagination another 'dimension' which is the imagination.
