i need to know in the next two weeks if this Walpurgisnacht 2009 CoC convention is worthwhile. and by worthwhile, i mean enough people will attend.
a Cult gathering 7 months from now will take a lot of time, energy, and money. i don't want to half-ass it or have it turn out to be a big disappointment because the interest level isn't there. so i need to know what you guys think.
just to clarify, there doesn't have to be a Cthulhu con 09. it's not going to hurt the Cult or disappoint me in any way. if there's no gathering, then i'm perfectly happy with that. however, if this is something that should be done because many people are enthusiastic and serious about attending, then cool. full steam ahead.
ok, take the poll and, more importantly, post your thoughts in this thread. and be honest... false support is of no help at all.

guess that comes under, "would like to, but too inconvenient." although, an answer to that might be to set the northern lands alight with the Dreaded One's greenish flame!
...or you could just move to Wisconsin.

My financial situation has undergone grand and sweeping fluctuations as of late.
Fact is, I just can't forecast seven months into the future on this matter--way to much chaos in between where I am at now and where I am going.
I'd totally give a yes if I could be confident on the matter.
Edit:
What if we did this more as a festival? Rent out a field, get some bands, camp out and all that.
This might attract a lot of people otherwise ignorant of the cults' existance....and this we we could also turn the whole endeavour into an actual money maker.

pre-registration would be relatively inexpensive for Cultists.
i'm going for a different kind of feel. plus if the field and bands were costly, it could turn into a money loser. with a couple convention rooms and guests of honor i can keep costs under control. although, i do want to attract more than those interested in the CoC. general Mythos fans and LHP occultists will hopefully attend.

It is more travel costs that hinder me from offering up a confident commitment at this time.
Anyways, a more traditional convention sounds fine to me. One reason why I suggested a festival setting is...group ritual. Whatever. I am sure if interest is high enough, and this actually happens, then it will be cool as all heck.

If Cthulhu brings me several thousand dollars for plane fares and accommodation, I will most definitely come. Until then, it's a bit too inconvenient.

On second thought, May is a ways away... maybe I will be able to make it. I'd like to change my vote to maybe. I'd really like to attend! IA!

I think I'd be fucking cool...
What would be on the agenda?
I can't fully commit yet, but I can start looking into travel expenses and getting the time off to attend. That way I know if I'm able to go.
But getting together with a bunch of Insane Cultists sound Fun.

just because your on the opposite side of the planet?
yeah, i totally understand. that must be like a 20 hour plane ride. my god, that would suck ass!
anyways, i'm probably going to organize the gathering in '09 with Cora'Sahn's help (and others, i hope). just give me another week to fully make up my mind and talk to a few hotels about costs and accommodations.

I would like to, but I wouldn't want to commit and NOT show.. I hate that shit when people do that. Unless I get a raise like I plan, I wount be able to afford to come. Hell, my hours have been 28 a week lately.. can barely pay bills.
