[glow=red,2,300]I found this useful... maybe some of you will too. It takes practice for some. Others pick it up instantly.[/glow]
This is a simple and basic technique for sensing energy: Rub your hands together briskly for ten to twenty seconds. Pull them apart very slightly so that there is a small space between your palms, and they are not actually touching. After a few seconds, the prickly feeling from the friction will wear off, and you should move your hands just a little further apart, about an inch. Do you feel feel any heat or cold or tingling with your palms, as if there is a pillow of something between them? As soon as you can feel that consistantly, pull your hands apart. When they're too far apart and it begins to fade, push them back together. Go back and forth, finding out where it is strongest and where it is weakest. It may feel like a push, forcing your hand apart, or a pull, bringing them closer together. Some people take to this technique immediately; others need several attempts, sometimes on separate days. If it isn't working try again tomorrow.
Practice. Do it over and over. What you're aiming for is to be able to produce it without the rubbing, to know how it feels to have it well up, to know that so well that so well you can do it without rubbing your hands together. Eventually you should be able to hold your hands facing upward and create a controlled "pad" of energy on each one.
Now that you can create that little pad of energy between your hand, describe it. Does it have a color? What color is it? Is it watery or muddy or electric, slow or fast, push or pull? Does it come from your fingertips or from the centers of your hands? What part of your body does it seem to flow from -- your heart, your belly, your head, or somewhere else? Can you mold it into various shapes, as if you were sculpting clay? If you can do this with a partner, try and pass them your energy object. It may change shape as they take it, which indicates that their conscious or unconscious mind influenced it, but they may be able to guess what it was when you handed it.
The point of this baby exercise is that you can use this energy to charge physical objects such as candles, tools, and any old junk you might pick up and want to use in a spell. Practice makes perfect, and you will eventually be able to inject something with a small zorch of energy, as if you were the outlet and it was an appliance.
