That guy looks just like my cousin but it's not him. It is however hilarious.

Love this guy! Thanks for sharing this! And for the 'thoughts become things' line, well they actually could if you are 'awake', control your emotions, live in a state of zen around the clock, don't have to go to work, don't have to take care of any other soul but yourself, and have reached the state of divine perfection....almost there...or NOT! 'Thoughts become things...' 'that is like complete torture to me...' :said the perfectionist.

yeah, i think there's a little something to "The Secret"... some truth there, but of course it's overblown into this Pollyanna, wishy-washy, new age model which, of course, attracts 1,000 times the number of people than it should.
the more diluted or on the wrong track something is, the more it will be celebrated by the masses. and this Stuart Davis guy completely exploits the secret's weaknesses.

Yes there is, I was reading some of my old blogs again and realized that I was pretty keen on my first encounter with the 'Secret' as it does contain truth it's just that most people expect immediate result. I do believe that thoughts become things at a certain point but I also believe that you need to do more than read the book and believe. In some ways it's like the Fourth Way, when you are able to focus on and work with your strongest I than you will be able to materialize your thoughts but that takes an awful lot of work first, I think for most of us a life long task of endurance and persistence.

I thought there were many similarities to what I have read about the 4th Way and the Secret.....I think that the 4th Way philosophy has more personal accountablility to it and more conscious thought. I agree with Valkyrie that one has to do more than believe and the Secret does not seem to really address true will the way the 4th Way does. It is an interesting notion that Gurdjeiff poses that this type of info....put out for the masses consumption, is really as "casting pearls before swine" as the info will be so diluted and watered down as to lose all meaning. I feel that this happened with the Secret.
ps....did anyone look at the comments on that video......very funny.
