I no very few of you know me, but I feel obligated to announce that this place is no longer for me. I have my doubts as to whether the cult of cthulhu was suitable for me. I speak also for my associate Bobby (eratciv/wintermute) His reasons are much the same as mine. I may still occasionally drop by to see how this place changes.
You have been tolerant but at the core we have very opposing ideologies. I have found the only "God" that I need. It seems idiotic to me that I failed to notice that he was right before my eyes for several years now. I have been accepted based solely on my power and on my devotion, so the path to awakening means little to me. What good is your awakening if I have already accomplished the peak of my achievement here?

your post made very little sense to me after reading it again more closely... what "God"? how are our ideologies opposed? accepted by what or whom? what achievement and where? most importantly, why do you not realize that Awakening is everything... the beginning and the end?
if you wish to leave us then adios.

I find myself confused as well.I worship something I created for goodness sake.Anyway I do hope you luck in your endeavors and be sure to drop by once in a blue .Later mate.

May your path be a good one. And thanks for the farewell, very classy and respectful. We all delude ourselves in some form or another. Learning and changing and realizing is bound to lead us astray sometimes, but that does not really matter as long as we learn from it. Perhaps you will check back as you said, perhaps not, i guess the most important thing is that you have learned/realized something about yourself. But i think iconoclasm is right, there is room for all here. As long as they seek to learn and grow, as we all do.

I do not understand your perspective but I respect your desire to leave. I think there is really room for all here, Venger has created a good place to transform in. I do have a question for you though....I don't really care if I get an answer either....If you have already reached the pinnacle of your achievement in life....what is left to live for? I guess I just don't get it. I do wish you well and hope you find what you are looking for. Jaz.

So sorry to hear about your recent conversion to christianity. Really! Been down that road and walked it for 15 years. Went to Bible College for two years and majored in Bible even. It was 15 years of hell too. A lot of self-denial, fear, and guilt, which is what fuels the faith to begin with and keeps it going. Truly one of the most self-destructive religions in the world today. I was fortuantly reawakend about a year ago and have been healed from all the damage. You have began a path of blind faith and that is how it will leave you, blind. It has that title for a reason. Any deity that says "blessed is he who does not see and still believes" truly has something to hide. Ya think! Anyway good luck on your path to selflessness that will leave you burdenend and empty. Perhaps you'll be fortunate to find yourself back here or at least somewhere where truth really lies. Either way Good Luck!

Well said dragonlady, we must be wary of the sheepish mentality
forced upon us; the travelers and seekers
by the followers and the believers
Welcome to the forum. ;D

I stopped by to see what had developed here and Holy Shit! You people think E and I have turned Xian? Neither of us have. I simply decided to take a more active roll in my old sect and well sadly the CoC has interests different then ours. I'm sorry if Elise didn't convey her message clear enough.

Indeed. I think that we must aim to be a mosaic of individual growth. Not a mob of contentment. For me its not what you do, but how you do it that matters. We ARE all (in a sense) like sheep surrounded by fences. But most of these fences have been build by ourselves (unlike the actual sheep of our farms). There is at least one thing that seperates a seeking soul from one who believes it HAS already found. When a seeker eventually realizes that the fence he thought was holding him in, is really not, then he ventures further until he encounters another barrier (which he may pass in time). When a sheep who believes he HAS found, encounters the fence and begins to realize that these walls he has lived behind all his life may be fake, he will shut his eyes and block out the fact. Thinking that truth will go away if he does not mention it. I guess the MAIN feature that (in my mind) separates seeking from believing, is that the sheep who believes that he HAS found will grow more and more self deluded, while the seeking sheep will simply just grow. One must remember that all is in a sense folly. Existence may just be a parody. THEREFORE, we must be vary of the sheepish mentality. EDIT: What you have said above (werecat) could hardly be any more true. We ARE mostly (if not entirely) flockish as a race. Thanks for reminding me of that. The thinking has done me good.

you, Werecat?!? will wonders never cease...
a shared vision among sheep is sheepish; a shared vision among individuals is a powerful and dangerous paradigm.
a singular mindset is not what we're looking for, as you stated. however, a singular understanding is. if most of us can agree on the destination, then the CoC should welcome any mode of travel and method of navigation.
and what is our destination? EVOLUTIONARY SELF-TRANSFORMATION. in other words, creating positive and lasting change for the individual Cultist. if this goal is attractive, then we're on the same page and can move forward. also, it might help to read (or re-read) Cthulhu Cult. and let me know if anyone would like the free PDF.

What specific "positive and lasting change for the individual Cultist." are we aiming for here? I see no reason to limit it simply to understanding. Why not take it a step further. I would appreciate a pdf of the cult bible. Here is my email mister.indigo@yahoo.com.
