This happened on the way home tonight. I found myself surrounded in darkness. I see just a very small glimmer of light. I hear waves. I start to hear foot steps off in the distance coming toward me as if on the sand of a beach . I hear a slow chant coming from the sound of the foot steps. IA! IA! TA BA WA! The sensation I had was that of a dispassionate observer. The voices get closer along with the footsteps and the chanting gets louder. The light gets just a bit brighter and then just as soon as I feel I'm about to witness what may truly drive me to "madness" I was back in the car sitting next to my girlfriend. Vision or my imagination running away with me?

What where you thinking about when it happend? Did watch any movies or read any books recently that had anything like that in them? When you where in this darkness where aware of yourself, both physicaly and mentaly. Or you could have fallen to sleep.

I haven't watched any occult themed movies recently, The only book I've read lately has been a Xanth novel by Piers Anthony. I read H.P. Lovecraft for the first time yesterday, "The Hound" and "The Statement of Randolph Carter", neither of which have this particular element. I was fully aware of my "essence" (mental only) in the darkness. I have never fallen asleep and not known it.

This happened this morning as I laid down to sleep. I was at that state of not fully asleep but not quite awake with my eyes closed. I saw a "vision" of a man standing on a shore facing the ocean. Then a great dragon/the world serpent/Cthulhu/Leviathan rose up out of the water, breathed fire on the man, devoured him then turned and looked in my direction as if I was dessert or something. But, just like before, I was unaware of my physical body being present, only my conscience.
Any feedback?
