Organization
If there is to be an organization then there are actually two things to analyze in terms of its ontological process: 1) What is being organized and how? 2) To what purpose is it organizing? Why organize?
What is being organized wasn't even being addressed in the thread of discussion on the topic. It was presumed that the *cultists* were being so organized because we're dealing with the CoC. But it would be valuable to deal more rudimentarily and contextually with this and with specificity.
First off, the information and communications ought be organized. Leaving them splayed about and absent tending is usual lack of attention to orientation and knowledge that most cults employ, thereby failing their newcomers.
Secondarily, the permissions, literal functions of operation of the board itself require organizing, and this should be seen clearly by those participating so that it does not become another blinder undermining by omission what is taking place.
Thirdly we may organize people to do something if it is clear what is being done and who is doing it well. Until that clarify of understanding, then something functional and relevant (doing the work in all senses) should be clearly showcased and rewarded with attention and titles.
As for why CoC is gathered, i thought that was adequately made plain by previous participants and this should simply be carried forward in a gooey and tumultuous sense, to give it the lack of integrity and solid horror that it deserves. It would be terrible if the rigid back-to-bare-metal motive over-rode and destroyed the Lovecraftian chaotic impulse, though i am aware that this is a hazard.
So what can the CoC accomplish as an organization? That fusion between the factors already described by visionaries within the cult, one way or another: 1) Satanism and Demonology escalated to the features of a Lovecraftian LHP 2) Magic employed to mystical aims devoid of clutter and self-delusion These have a variety of potential implementations, and why there should ONLY be certain rigidly-maintained standards in this regard (say, adhering to Mr. Gurdjieff's, Mr. Crowley's, Mr. Grant's, Ms. Towne's, Ms. Valiente's system) is something i want to see justified by those who actively participate. I disagree that Jungian, psychological remedies are panaceas or that the 3 ways described by Gurdjieff anything other the simplifications. Cults have certain standard operating aims. Those centered on Cthulhu should absolutely not have harnesses and restraints and rigid hierarchies. That destroys both the LHP and thematic Lovecraftian implication of corrosion.
The question of whether the cult is a better vessel for these aims answers itself, because those who prefer to do it alone will do so, and those who want a cult to join and become part of a group endeavour will do so. Turn-over, attritiion, and the roiling social miasm which it becomes is all to the better and testimony to our success. The best outcome for the Cult of Cthulhu possible was the departure of its High Priest and clergy, abandoning their stations and titles. From here a self-analysis and reconstitution is possible. Some of the rabble have had excellent suggestions on how this may take place, and in an expedient reflection on action.

Masturbatory Restraint and Chaos Mayjix Results
After that, the only issues become what level of restraint will be exercized on the active dimensions of authority and on titular dispensation. Will it be sharply pointed so as to focus on the board administrator as lever and determiner of organization, or will it dissapate and obscure this very real arbiter of participation for some other set of purposes and aims?
Restraint on self-pleasuring seems to be unjustified, and reprimanding individual interests using masturbatory epithets seems to be an outworn and juvenile thing of the past, like calling people by scat and genitalia names. Why we should care enough about someone's solitary explorations to ridicule it seems odd, and programmed by wider society, like making fun of homosexuals as 'perverts'. The time has gone when it made sense to mock those with titles simply because they had them.
So should the results become a focus again, and an aim toward progress opportunities for everyone, does it seem sensible to aim for quasi-freemasonry and the club of an Ordo Templi Orientis (a rigid hierarchy, btw), or moreso a chaos mayjik cult whose notion of 'gnosis' ranges widely and without the arbitrary requirements?
Unlike those who are convinced we should be able to simply get away with self-evaluation, direction of newcomer interests to whoever we designate with a 'Priest' badge as 'qualified to answer questions', and pretend authority, i am in agreement those who say "Deconstruct the whole thing!" and produce a broadside on precisely what is occurring with whom, letting everyone express their authority as they see fit.
I say make social authority volatile and swiftly changing. Confuse the n00bs with easily-labelled Central Authorities, requiring that any who volunteer for and are provided the authority must assume a GENERIC Display Name and Icon like 'Cult Leader' and some Cthulhu Image, regardless of whether they choose to sign their name to their expressions. Once served, they must change out their name/icon.

'Taking Titles' {excerpted from pages 77-78 of "The Gospel of Satan: Commentary and Fatwas", by Troll Towelhead, the Grand Mufti of Satanism; this is one of the fatwas included therein}
"Having studied names and titles quite a bit during my adulthood, I noticed people getting upset about self-adopted titles and that at least in egotistic social circles this was part of the drive for their originators to make them. In contrast, the primary social motive is the designation of attention upon a point-person (like a file folder label or a badge).
"The interest by folks to fashion themselves titles prior to any legitimizing supports for them is part of a role-playing activity. When I was in high school we had a fun time setting up titles for our characters. There was a whole science to doing it in Dungeons and Dragons, provided within the ‘Red Dragon Magazine’. Soon afterward, as part of student body government and extracurricular activities, the construction of clubs and social networks intrigued us enough to give us reason to concoct faux groups and titles (mostly in jest because we were disaffected). For example, I initiated the Necrophiliac Club, or at least its charter, and a friend of mine, Jim, read it into the student record as a prank and a childish protest.
"Intersecting mystical and occult domains, the ephemerality and fakery of titles is such that what some Satanists call ‘Lesser Magic’ is facilitated, and use of titles to flim-flam or leverage respect without earning it is a strong interest evinced by those who set up their own religious, mystical, and occult groups. This seems to be the case no matter what they call the groups themselves (e.g. church, temple, order, synagogue, grotto, etc.).
"With the rise of the internet, this has magnified immensely due to the amount of attention, publicity, and media-moving one can command, even as a sole actor. With enduring interest, one may simply outlast a number of people online and, by positioning, glean what appears to be authority but is actually networking leverage. Often religious and occult aspirants have no clue as to the differences between these, and tend to squabble over them all because of it. In semi-anarchistic zones, such as the early internet (usenet, IRC’s EFnet, etc.), this emphasized one’s tenure and technical capacity over any supposed signs of actual personal development.
"One of the oft-unseen aspects of titular adoption by the mystico-religious is the psychological envelope it inflates within one’s personal sphere (kind of like how balloons are used by inflating them within a clogged artery). Stark contrast between emulating or posturing explorers and those who aspire to the actual abilities, condition, or social responsibilities leads the latter to heavily criticize those engaging in personal development using such posturing. Often those who are social ladder-climbers are utterly ignorant of these subjective avenues or opportunities. At times what is initially purported to be achievement may set the stage for the development of the qualities or condition desired.
"Twin valences of esoteric organization (beyond the intermediary ‘club’) have developed in coordination with these two potential catalysts: matricular and predispositional structures. An example of the matricular, social vehicle, where one studies to earn a degree, title, or certification of largely academic, but potentially disciplined, achievement would be the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (G.D.). An esoteric cult whose method is ordeal-oriented and predispositional, gating the initiate into a further challenge by providing a new social status, is the Order of the Eastern Temple (O.T.O.).
"Typically, where people are doing something, they find some benefit from it, however difficult it may be to discern what that is, precisely. Also typically, where are people making fun of or ridiculing others, it is because those who are doing the ridiculing have no clue about the value of it. The best way to find out about the value for using titles is to experiment with them — try them out within a social venue and see what comes of what comes of the experiment. It may draw ridicule, it may generate prestige, it may go nowhere. Consider what it means, and whether there may be benefits from doing it."
