Now is the time to set new goals... and see them met. Who here has been thinking of making a change? Who needs a change in their life? Start today. Post in this thread if you're ready to get fit (or more fit than you currently are), and then write about how you intend to achieve your goals.
I know I've been lax lately. Drinking too much soda, eating too much pizza. A previous injury has kept me from lifting as much weight as I used to, but I've decided to take a different approach - less weight and more reps; more activity with less intensity. It might not be my ideal way to go about things, but what's the alternative? Submit? Never.

Ipsissimus Satanis, I am with you on this endeavor. It is not just time to start learning but also improving.

Wow! With that simple statement you affirm that the two - learning and improving - are woven together in a way that feed off each other. The connection is subtle and easy to miss at a quick glance.

Sadly, I must admit I make goals all the time. Going through to accomplish them is the hard part.
Right now, getting fit is the biggest goal I'm working towards since there is a job I am trying to get that requires a certain level of fitness. I have been doing push-ups for the past two weeks, starting out unable to do any on the knees and now able to do 5 sets of 15.
Before I got a job I never ate fast food. I cooked dinner nightly for a family of 5. Now, I work graveyard shift so it's no longer an option. In order to resist eating fast food, on my days off, I cook healthy meals and eat them through the week. I'm substituting unhealthy foods for better ones, like cutting out white bread and eating whole-grain pastas. I'm adding organic things in my diet as well.
I'd like to see more goals posted. Anything, even if it's just a basic idea.
Awake!

[teal]My goal is a pretty simple one, I'm going to try and start eating a healthy and balanced diet. My financial situation is pretty bad right now and as a consequence I've been filling up on carbohydrates and sugar, so I'm going to put in the extra effort to stay fit and healthy, and try to come out of this better than I went in.[/teal]

I just met a wonderful guy through online and Skype and we have been talking fir sone time now, sadly he lives in North Carolina and myself in the UK. But he is just the sweetest guy, and though he walks a right hand path as a Christian of sorts, he respects my views and beliefs. My goal is to get a better job and save to go see him.

My advice, should you want it, is to enjoy your friendship or casual long-distance romance while seeking a relationship with someone who lives near you, someone you can physically see, talk to, and be with. Meeting a person online who lives in another country with the intention of eventually moving and being with him or her is usually doomed to failure.

There are few men in this world who abhor wishy-washy bullshit and the parasitic fleecing of sincere seekers of knowledge than Martin Berkhan.
For those who don't know, Martin Berkhan is the father of intermittent fasting. He owns the Lean Gains website, and dispenses truths of eating, training, and many thing in-between. www.leangains.com/
I hadn't checked out his site in nearly a year, but now that I'm back in the game, his was my first port of call. Seems like he's been struggling with all the falseness of this world. Like me, Martin grows weary of fair weather enthusiasts and assholes who just want to take advantage of people's good intentions. Not only are they time-wasters, but they drain our energy, too. I believe LaVey called them psychic vampires.
Hopefully, he'll return from his occasional-hiatus unscathed because he is a man of truth and understanding.

My short term goal is to refocus on what's important and pffft everything else.

*cough, cough* negative emotion *cough, cough* wasting time *cough, cough* Point well taken, brother.
Looking at all that again, I can see Berkhan is also kind of being a pompous douche. But, then, so can we all. Let the Cult of Cthulhu be careful of making non-essential edicts (unprofitable tantrums on the internet)! Such things waste time, energy, and focus.
