@cs: When is the absolute deadline?
@vs: Most of what I know about the technical side of making websites is out of date, but if you need help, just let me know.

The absolute deadline was 10/15 but I accepted submissions up to the 30th. This thing is DONE. I'll accept new submissions for the Winter edition.

Winter Issue Deadline 11/15/12
Submissions Status:
1. Thor Grim
I'll take submissions until the end of November, if you want a Winter Issue you'll have to send in something for me to work with.
It's like this for every issue. What am I not doing to motivate you folks to send in your submissions? What can I do to keep you motivated and remind you?
The forum posts don't seem to be doing the trick, nor is private email.
Tell me.

Just curious, are there any easily found submission guidelines for the GT?

I've tried a number of ways to post them:
On Proboards On The Social Network On Facebook Private Email Venger created a video on his youtube channel too.
People still forget.
There really aren't many guidelines in terms of the submission itself. It can be an article, essay, poetry, artwork, illustration, and it doesn't matter how short or long it is.
There aren't many people on the Social Network, so I mainly just use the Proboards for reminders but I do post them on the Sn too. Facebook is more for the readers, I post there anyway.
We could sticky a post with guidelines and deadlines, I don't think much would change. People still forget. It's all been done. This thing has a bit of a history. It's not a new. The format is new.
4 issues a year Deadlines are always the 15th of the month during the quarter (March, June, September, and December). This year was off because I had to keep extending the deadlines to put out an issue (i.e. September was extended into October). Release dates are typically April, July, October, January). Pretty flexible though, always has been.
Any ideas?

Yes, that after a certain amount of repetition , the correct solution can be clearly seen to be, as it almost always is in such times of grave difficulty, the proper application of Mad Science, and as such, it would be reasonably reasonable to reasonably expect a permanent solution to this problem within a short span of two issues at the most, an unforgettable and instantly classic issue of the GT at the mid range, and a mere few weeks at the most expedient, the results having nothing to do with the length of this particularly rockin' on' run on sentence of wondrously pompous semi-bullshit speak.

I didn't know that all submissions to the GT needed to be inspiring. Thank you, I'll try to find something more inspiring.

Everyone knows about the Matrix, Fight Club, Star Wars and in fact I think they're over-referenced. Here's an idea, what about a list of the best movies that most people don't reference in regard to the LHP, Fourh Wat, etc, like The Adventures of Mark Twain, Star Trek V, Dark City. It's a list I could contribute to but couldn't come up with enough movies to make a large list

The context related to solutions to my inquiry, did you really intend for this to be a submission to the GT?

Yes, but the reason I submitted it was to help clarify what the GT really is and help build useful submission guidelines. I'm very happy it was rejected. If the GT was a person, it just earned itself a bit of self-respect.

Hmm...Master Yrreiht already wrote about Apocalypse Now and Colonel Kurtz, on of my favorite films to contemplate from an LHP perspective. I'd also nominate "Lawrence of Arabia". Not precisely a film, but I find "Reign: the Conqueror", an animated series based on the life of Alexander the Great, quite inspirational as well.

I have a very basic note published on FB here: www.facebook.com/pages/Green-Trapezoid-Newsletter/161127667354448?sk=notes
The GT Group on the SN is another place it's been discussed, then of course the archives here on proboards.
I don't think the guidelines are the issue, it's getting people to remember to submit their contribution, which was the point of my inquiry. How do get people to remember.

Feel free to submit a film review. Another item to consider may be music that covers themes in the cult paradigm.

106 words! \m/ It needs revision, and to be included with similar anti-inspirational run-on sentences. I think there's a point to it, serves a purpose; but in its raw form, it's less valuable than it should be.
Here's an idea, Shawn. How about an article on being almost too agreeable? Call it peachy-ism or something, and tell us why you subscribe to it.

My approach was to view the problem from the point of view of someone who wanted to submit something to the zine using the guidelines as given and seeing what got in the way while refining the focus of the zine itself by the content of my submissions, which I expected to be rejected, but for reasons that could, for the first time, be made explicit rather than merely implicit.
My idea was well-intentioned, and meant to be executed with good humor, but ultimately I see it was just stupid.

Believe me, I got the underlying message. I am not stupid. I don't think that the effort was stupid at all, just not helpful in lieu of offering a solution to an on-going issue with remembering. Get it?

It's not just the deadline date. It's also remembering that they could be working on submissions each quarter.

This is why I liked the theme, particularly 'change'. I didn't submit anything, but I thought and wrote a lot about it. I didn't submit anything because nothing gelled into a large enough article.

Don't concentrate on a theme so much, the Grotto zine is more 'theme' oriented while the Green Trap has always been an organic chaos agent of theory and practice.
Even if you write a short piece, it could be packed with power and inspiration.
