What you call fever pitched ass-kissing, I see as a sign of respect and clear devotion to a single purpose. Is it so wrong to support the man who made all of this possible? Support, loyalty, agreement, devotion, gratitude, respect—all of these are well and good, and I have nothing against them. But if all a post says is "Yes, I agree," they could have hit "exalt" without making the thread longer.
A good show of loyalty, in my mind, is Izratan'Sharaz's post at the top of the second page of this thread, not only expressing his support, but also explaining why it is he agrees and how he perceives the matter. There's nothing wrong with agreeing, but I like to see demonstration of one's thought process, showing that one agrees for a reason and isn't just a bobble-head.
This is part of why Wizards are required to write an essay. Swearing undying personal devotion may be necessary to become a Wizard, but (contrary to what King claimed) that alone is not sufficient to qualify one for the position.

You seriously wrote all that for me, Naga? no, please read more carefully. I wrote it "for the advantage of cultists and their observers" and "in part for my own enjoyment and in part as a compassionate service to what i regard as requiring brilliant objective analysis in the calm light of reason." please quote that for us, if you are not already banned from this forum, and i can clear that up for you. I'm sitting on no fences and have quite clearly indicated where i'm coming down. I'm sorry if that is unclear to you, but will be happy to explain or elaborate in response to respectful inquiry.

Ok, cool.
Well said. loyalty alone is not enough. Doing the right thing for the wrong reason is almost as bad as doing the wrong thing for the right reason.
A little more depth or substance, as Apsara was saying in another thread, would benefit us all.
Unfortunately, from some perspectives, Jason King has indeed been banned from this forum. I believe that was his intention.
I agree. What JK considers "the fence", most of us would consider the third side, third force, reconciling force, middle ground, grey area, quantum understanding, or taking a neutral position.

Thank fellow Wizard of the Terrible Darkness Vanessa. I'm very sad but glad at the same time to see everyone's true colors here on this thread. I have seen people who in the past have been so respectful of Master Satanis and his vision of the CoC, and now the real mask come on. These people are now either leaving the CoC or stepping down from there ranks. I welcome it because it show's who the true leaders are and the devoted few. I've been called many things because I have devoted my life to Master Satanis and the CoC but I don't give a fuck. Some think that I kiss ass to Master Satanis, I tell them it's not kissing ass it's showing respect to a true living God.
I respect Ego, and Tc but King can keep his Stevie wonder ass at home where he belongs and make worthless you tube videos. Master Satanis has and will continue to bring forth his slimy tentacles into the very fabric of our existence and beyond. I as a Wizard of the Terrible Darkness will uphold his very will and continue to use our Emerald power to show others what they can achieve through our very powerful paradigm. I guess it's time to rise from the abyss and show the world what and who we are, even if it means to destroy our enemies. For some who read this you may call me insane...Go ahead for I will be at my Master's left hand watching everyone grovel at his feet.

The only person to ever balk at my assumptions regarding my own purpose and self-declared divinity was Jason King. I'm sorry to hear that, Master Satanis. this means that you are either not paying attention to those who may offer criticism of hyper-extended religious mechanisms, or you are only unclearly referring to a subset such as within this board. ...i have tried to make my contentions here extraordinarily clear as regards what weight i am capable of lending them. Yes, I was referring to a very limited subset within this board. thank you for making that more clear. Although, the vast majority of people who criticize me, the CoC, or my books don't usually invest that much time in focusing on the self-divinity / messiah stuff. Rather, they lump everything they don't like together and call me crazy, ridiculous, insane, a fool, misguided, a dreamer, etc. those who were the most vociferous and acid within the confines of venues such as the MCoS are those who actually do spend a great deal of time talking about it. dan_dread, for example, was a major opponent to your ideas and is heavily interested in the concept, going out of his way to discuss autotheism (and is refining this for a more formal presentation of 'autodiabolism' as i understand it). I was skeptically or critically evaluative and challenging of you in the context of MCoS and have placed what i regard as the greatest degree and most enduring focus on this subject of any that i know, encompassing multiple cultures, several paradigmatic valences pertinent to the LHP, Satanism, etc.; beyond this i would agree and have myself criticised those who prop up 'Worshipping oneself as a God', as within LaVeyan contexts, as being largely without any serious interest other than to yank chains. you have been misunderstood, then, through the exclusive claims and categorical style of your expression thusfar. I suggest to you that you really cannot have it both ways: either you are an individual for whom this applies: I have an unholy mission, an eldritch mandate, and belief that I am the one to whom the Great Old Ones speak and through me they communicate to the world. Therefore, the degree of Ipsissimus, as you correctly defined, is warranted.or you are not. self-deification does not automatically, unless you prefer to define your terms in this fashion to explain your meaning, include these special statuses. it was this to which The King was responding, i'm sure. actually, having witnessed nothing that i would call a miracle without a stretch of the language beyond rational bounds, i would like in response to point to three postings that you made within this thread which i consider to be "anti-miracles": and the reason that i am calling these anti-miracles is that they display a very serious problem with your judgement and communication skills -- one which ought to concern anyone to whom you might represent yourself as spiritually adept in the manner attested to by the adoption of 'Ipsissimus' (you already as much as admitted this yourself and are responsible for the break-up of the priesthood of this organization, by your choices).
this is in part why The King was flying off the handle and trying to get himself banned, this is in part why the ex-Priests of R'lyeh were forming a grotto establishing a greater emphasis on rationality, and it is, i suggest to you, why you may be left without anything of value in the Cult of Cthulhu other than toadie yes-people participating in the worst aspects of religion as long as you aren't willing to own, and make plain, your actual status, condition, and relative position vis-a-vis others proximate within your organizational structure. this is the weakness of Hermetic orders, religiomystical edifices dwelling in cloud-castles of 'infallibility', and will be their downfall as they do not somehow make allowance for the heavy value of reason and realism within them.
I'm sorry, Master Satanis, but you don't appear to be tracking my explanation for the whole debacle (largely resting on your shoulders). their interests were in REFRAINING FROM BELIEF, and your insistence (which you appear now to be retracting?) that they accept and 'have faith in you' within a special status was something that they were trying to deal with by constructing an isthmus of rationality in a cult potentially over-run by a megalomaniacal personality of unsound foundation.
if this supposed to be arch and humorous i'm sorry that i don't see it as such. the complaint and difficulty has been with your outrageous desire for attention, your extravagant egotism with insufficient substance to back it up (what i have called 'ego inflation'; a general pitfall into which LHP practitioners sometimes fall), and your rough-handling (beastliness) of those who had only recently been reprimanded by you in full view of the rest of the membership for being too rough and acting too quickly. by logical extension from your own contentions to them which i recall vividly, your treatment of these individuals should have been exponentially more tactful and friendly, and the fact that you took such quick action in a manner that destroyed the upper echelon of a project you had previously explained was of such importance to you bespeaks either duplicity or incompetence. I am not one to suppose the former without good reason and am only left with the latter as explanation given the facts as i know them.
additionally, there appears to be sufficient dissonance of storytelling here by those involved (primarily between TC Downey and Darrick Dishaw) that i would be very wary, were i involved with the Cult of Cthulhu more formally, to trust or have faith without a lot more to bolster and earn it. TC is stating that you informed him that all this business about your being "the one to whom the Great Old Ones speak and through me they communicate to the world" was tongue-in-cheek, i.e. put on, camp, and humorous, and that this was the character of the premise put to him in the offer of a position and title within the Cult of Cthulhu. I don't see any reason that he would lie about this, so either you two have some seriously fucked up communication dynamics and he is completely mistaken about what you meant, or you are engaging in the kind of antics which The King has surmised:
weighing a flock of 'sheep' (as he calls them) against two excellent priestly assistants who would not support your egotistical duping enterprise and deciding, pragmatically, that you would rather have them gone, given the opportunity to accuse them of a sufficiently egregious act so as to excommunicate them without the ability to work it out, and capitalize on the small group of toadies who can magnify and glorify your person unfoundedly than to try to do the hard work of negotiating with those who The King is convinced are your actual superiors.
I must say that i disliked this scenario but so far it fits the facts in many ways. were you to be more straightforward about the errors that you have made as a leader exemplified by what occurred in this thread, and were you more apologetic to your own cult for the disruption that you appear to have caused, then i would be less inclined to follow The King down this path. as it stands, however, the marked contrast between your account of the events and that of TC Downey at least (ignore Ego and The King for now) leave me challenging the value of any Hermetic condition assignments on the order of Ipsissimus within the CoC (not that i have very much faith in it generally).
thank you kindly. I do not think that the appearance of attempting to hive or divide, or an evaluation of it as such, may have occurred to the former priests of R'lyeh. that is, their motivations were completely well-placed and sound, and as i have indicated here before, i regard your action as extreme and unwarranted -- an evaluation that seems to be shared by a few others, some of whom have departed or are now excluded from participating. I urge you to consider this very carefully, because i suspect the course you are choosing -- in encouraging an adulation of your person while demonstrating profound administrative inadequacies -- will not get you where you want to go given what i know about your values and aims.
good luck in your projects. Ia! Ia! Cthulhu F'tagn!

Respectfully, I accept that we all come at this topic from different perspectives and viewpoints. While it may not be in my nature to follow unquestionably the will of another, even if he is an exceptional man and leader, for others that is clearly what they must do. My observation wasn't specifically aimed at you, it was a general observation I had by re-reading the entire thread on a Decree of Heresy. It appeared in some cases to be a bobble head response as Wizard Vanessa aptly described. It wasn't my intention to put anyone down personally.
Yes, my true colors are showing themselves as that of an individual who can think for himself, being able to voice his disappointment about certain events but at the same time show proper respect and admiration to High Priest Satanis and the former Priesthood as I have clearly displayed now and in the past. If this is seen as unloyal by anyone, then so be it. I have to be true to myself first and foremost and accept my observations as I see them.
Fair enough High Priest Satanis. There is nothing wrong with showing respect and devotion. Perhaps it is just my personal cringe worthy take on it that I find hard to digest. I realize now that it is probably not my place to voice that opinion. I apologize.
In response to your comment about being thankful and grateful;
I maintain that I have shown you my utmost gratefulness many times in both PM and here on the forum. Nothing has or will change my appreciation for the guidance and generosity you have shown me.
As to not cause any more misunderstanding brother Satanis, I will now refrain from posting on this thread.

[/quote] I'm sorry you feel that way... or believe that way, I should say, as everyone has a belief system or belief disarray of some kind. The fact that I am as conscious as I am is miracle enough, from my standpoint, brother. If I have become no more than a false prophet, then you probably won't have much use for me in your life.
While I encourage people to take the Cthulhu Mythos and our entire paradigm as merely symbolic, if that's what they choose to do, I never told nor eluded to T.C. that my affectations or turns of phrase were camp. I take my role as founder and leader of the Cthulhu Cult very seriously. I take my mission and destiny equally serious. At times, I try to take myself less serious because I have always agreed with LaVey that a magician without a sense of humor is a terrible thing.

If I have become no more than a false prophet, then you probably won't have much use for me in your life. since i am not engaging you as a prophet, for me you will have no true or false valence. my relationship with you is as someone with important overlaps of interest (primarily HPL, Satanism, and mysticism). I hope you see that these overlaps still exist. for example, i am curious about your relationship to Satanism as yet and was intending to try to determine if you think that i should list you on the Real Satanists page. how odd. somehow he got the impression from you that it was 'tongue in cheek' in private conversation. that's a serious misunderstanding. no idea to what this pertains. I got this book by Robert Price published by Chaosium for my birthday. I've been reading it and what it has to say about Nyarlathotep is truly astounding! I know you were aware that this god is considered satanic. Price puts forward that this is a cryptic derivation from the god Siva!! with the extant relation to chaos, i am surprised at how well-suited this is to my interests (it was fairly randomly selected for me at a Neopagan festival by a woman i called my Abyss): Robert Price: "...Nyarlathotep ... is both the 'soul and messenger' of the 'blind, voiceless, tenebrous, and mindless Other Gods' on the one hand and 'their Crawling Chaos' on the other." when the spaces between the stars are right,

I make prophecies and claim to say prophetic things. That alone makes me a prophet in most people's eyes. So what others must decide for themselves is this: am I a false prophet or a true one. Of course, the other option is to not see me as a prophet at all. Cherry pick from my list of accomplishments and misdeeds as you will. I am not perfect, I fall under a certain number of laws even though I become more conscious year after year. No matter what transpires, I shall not lose faith in myself. Your beliefs, on the other hand, are your own.
In the way that I walk the Left Hand Path, as I observe it, and view Satan as closely related to the Great Old Ones... yes, some might call me a Satanist.
Not only odd, but incredibly disturbing. It either means that T.C. is lying (which I don't think to be the case) or that someone who I considered to be one of my best friends and a brother never really understood me throughout the entire year we conversed!
That is very cool. I know that we both see sweeping parallels between various disciplines. Connecting the dots is what this teaching is all about. Overlapping interests indeed!
The crucifixion pertains to my world crashing down around me at every turn. Last night, I truly felt shattered with so many abandoning me, denying me, spitting upon me, taking great joy in my suffering, nailed to the cross (in a manner of speaking). My faith was tested. But today I am re-crystallized like a phoenix Christ in the understanding that this is all part of the great journey of life. These events needed to happen. I wasn't born on the Day of Sustained Effort for nothing! I am Venger As'Nas Satanis, and there is a long road ahead.
However, I have something further to say to everyone...
I don't mind being questioned, critiqued, or hindsighted by those remaining on this forum, as well as, those who still choose to align themselves with the Cult of Cthulhu. Nevertheless, I don't want to indulge constant henpecking. I also don't want to hold onto people who would rather be elsewhere. This is a shaking of the tree of life. Let all the rotten fruit fall to the ground in order to make room for that fruit which yet thrives. Let the purge be all-encompassing. Those who see no use in staying, please GTFO already!
In light of this, I'm locking this thread in 24 hours from now. That means if you have something to say publicly on these discussion boards about the "Decree of Heresy", then get it off your chest. If t'were done, t'were best done quickly.

I wasn't going to post anymore on this thread, however, in response to your current post, I'd like to say to you High Priest Satanis, you and the CoC still have my full support. I may have relinquished my title but I remain aligned as a friendly ally and member. Practicing the methods within this paradigm yield great results as I have discovered, and your endurance and strength as a leader are evident.
To be honest, I've also found that recent events have triggered off moments of awakening and re-evaluation in my life. This has lead me to a position of necessary independence as I continue to develop along the path, so I keep open the possibilities of other avenues as well. If you need to shake me from the tree, so be it, although it would be a shame. If you accept my independence and allow me to stay as a respectful ally and member then that would be very much appreciated and quite possibly mutually beneficial.

Interesting ...
In reflection Anton LaVey would claim "cleaning house" Michael Aquino would say " A room with to many over accelerated xeper"
In any case outside looking in all I can say is WOW.
from one point this thread would have been non existent with a few phone calls. from another this seems (seemed) inevitable.
Many of us who associate in group(s) continue their goals and stratification one way shape form or another.. Once full filled we tend to move on .
The trend I see is many 'top dogs' use each other as crutch and the failure lies with expanding from outside the bubble you created and expanding. By spending time associating with other groups and not promoting what and who you are you take away from that organization. Although the web is a large part in all of our lives the COS has made a name for itself with out youtube , blogs, and of course the web itself. If there is an example of and for success it would be Anton LaVey and since he is the only one who has done what he has accomplished I have yet to see anyone come close. IMO he is a good example to follow.
Though my first post I wish beast and egodiabolus well they have growing stronger as time has moved on and now on their own they now should do wonders for the LHP community.
As for Venture to use your own words.. . " I just do my own thing" So keep on keeping on !

Well, this has certainly been an interesting past few days within the Cult, to say the least...
I purposely refrained from adding any more negativity and "noise" to the situation but simply letting the dust settle a bit before I added any more commentary.
I'm truly displeased by the events that occurred but I believe that the Cult of Cthulhu shall stand strong and not completely crumble.
We as an organization have lost it's strongest players, other then our strongest player, Lord Venger Satanis. The top tier of the ziggaraut has crumbled and the debris has caused those of the lower tiers to scatter. It's indeed a sad situation that perhaps could have been avoided with a little more diplomacy and patience.
I do believe Lord Satanis was quick to act on the removal of Jason and TC from their positions but I also understand why he did it and I do not hold any contempt toward him for doing so and wish to remain a member of this organization as I have stated many posts back. This organization and it's leadership have my full support.
As for Mr. King... Well, he's quite the character and I believe he succeeded in his attempts to ruffle the feathers of several of the brothers and sisters of this organization. However, he had no effect on me, since I simply do my best to withhold from expressing negative emotion in such a situation as which transpired. King is a joker no doubt, and probably enjoyed himself a good bit with the fuss he created. Thusly are some individuals, "shit-disturbers", eh?
As I stated before, these things WILL and DO happen within organizations of this type. Especially those of the LHP and Satanism, where individuality and stubbornness seem to flourish. I do believe a great bit of these individuals should attend a course on critical thinking and debate. I've ran into many closed minds within the supposedly "open-mindedness" of Satanic forums and organizations. You must be willing to compromise and see things from various perspectives in arguments. Anyway, I'm getting off subject...
I feel that the Cult of Cthulhu shall continue to thrive in the future once things settle down a bit more and we recover from such a heavy blow.
I'd also like to state that I have nothing against King, Sorrell or TC and in fact respect all three of them. (Okay, maybe not King as much... but he's pretty well spoken at times)

Its been very interesting, but I see this as rebirth. Better and more improved. Bands make changes and move on. So will the CoC. Its up to us if its going to be better. Like Johnson joining AC/DC, and Hager joining Van Halen, or are we going the route of the new Guns n Roses? Either way its for the better good for the CoC. Alot of people don't like the new Guns, I personally do, but its a newer, fresher version and the players are alot more advanced then the old players.
I'm sure if you ask Axl , he's more than happy with the way things are for him. I'm sure the same can and will be said about Master Satanis. I know this might seem a odd way to compare things, but then I'm alittle odd . Its just what popped in my mind, so I figured I would post it. But in seriousness, its up to us to further the CoC!

Actually, Master Venger is our strongest player so I have to gently disagree with you on that one point. As long as the Master stays strong, so shall I. Of course, I know that others feel the same way that I do. Yes, it is a sad situation, but we must let this make us stronger, knowing that we choose to stay not out of blind loyalty (which I don't doubt some are thinking) but because we know that the Cult of Cthulhu will be here forever and NEVER die!

As good as the other players were in the CoC, there are just as many better ones in the waiting, or in the making. I believe this happened cause the CoC is evolving, its taking a life of its own.... a neutral beast that can't be contained any longer.
Not to say Master Satanis has no control, He most certainly does have control, but the CoC is evolving and leaving behind the ones that can't advance. It happened for a reason, and alot can't understand but in time it'll be as it should be!
Hail the Ancient Ones! Hail Dread Cthulhu! Hail Yog-Sothoth! Hail Satan! Hail to the Cult of Cthulhu! Hail to Master Satanis!
Awake!

High Priest Venger Satanis, I'm with you, I'll never forget that you saved my soul, as anyone knowing something of the 4th way will agree on. I'm surprised to see many peoples proclaiming to be among the best (or so they believe) according so little value to your teaching. "Cthulhu Cult" is the wisest and most useful book I never read, and I searched and studied philosophy and religions all my life (I'm 43) and your creation is the best of all, the compilation of LHP and 4th way is the answer to the questions of all my life. When the man who wrote the wisest book is dedicating his life to a religion, that's mean this religion is something of value. A French proverb say "fait ce que doit, advienne que pourra" (= do what you must, let happen what will happen) so I'll follow you and work with you, no matter how many priests and Cultists will be with us. If mankind do not want to be saved, so it be ; The truth is always almost alone, when many people are following it, it is because it has already been perverted. You proved your value Brother Satanis, it is only in bad times that one can verify solidity and nobleness ! The storm came, all what was weak was shattered and dispersed, soon the storm will be gone and we will build again. Let's quote Kipling, it seems to have been written for you : If
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools; If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on"; If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
A Man N° what ? Now is the moment of Awakening !

We as an organization have lost it's strongest players. The top tier of the ziggaraut has crumbled and the debris has caused those of the lower tiers to scatter. It's indeed a sad situation that perhaps could have been avoided with a little more diplomacy and patience. [i
Actually, Master Venger is our strongest player so I have to gently disagree with you on that one point. Awake! My apologies. I meant those besides our High Priest Venger Satanis. I'll edit the post to properly reflect what I meant! I myself have chosen to stay not out of blind loyalty but because I feel this Cult as my home and I have much work to do within it. I wish to become more active within the organization over time as things settle down for me in my personal life. I know I have a lot more to learn, especially with the Work. I'm a mere novice at the Fourth Way as I admittedly haven't invested nearly as much effort into it as I should have been doing. I'm here because I was called to be here. A nagging urge that pulled me to these forums and this paradigm. I feel a great strength in this organization and it is truly one of a kind. A grand religion of the most terrible proportions! The Cult of Cthulhu shall never die! Kai'Sigth Dreaming Herald of the Old Gods Cult of Cthulhu

I'll miss Ego & Beast. They shared a lot of their time with us. Now that their gone, I feel more of an urge than ever to do my own part for this Cult. They were smart & capable yes, but should we not strive to be as well. This is a Cult of believers, who hopefully will be around for the rise of a our great, lord, God Cthulhu. A lot of us have ideas for this growing Cult & we have faith. It is this faith that will make us grow & will hold us together in the end.
I believe in the Ancient Ones. I believe in Cthulhu. Since joining the Cult Ive felt different about life. Different about reality. These Ill recognize as the fruits of the unholy righteousness of Lord Venger. I can not depute the benefits the Cult has given me so far.
Master Venger seems well qualified & crazy enough(forgive me) to keep that belief alive. Probably for as long as he's alive! Remember his first priority is not to us, but to Cthulhu & the Ancient ones. He answers to them & only them. We have to do our part to keep the Cult afloat as well. And we have the people to do it.
Sure some one will be needed to step up & fill some positions. Lord Venger has to have people around him he can trust running this thing. And to them we will give our utmost support. They will be there to help him more than us. As it should be.
Ill trust in Lord Venger to preserve this belief & the representation of it on earth, the Cult of Cthulhu.
And you my brothers & sisters will do what ever you have to, to do the same. As you would expect the same of anyone else. The Work is to important.
Our belief unites us! Cthulhu spares none!

I just meant that maybe some of the newer members might think that we were blindly loyal. Those who haven't been here long enough to understand WHY we are so loyal to Master Satanis and the progression of our Work. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding. Awake!
