I hope everyone is aware that pretty much everything written by Clark Ashton Smith can be found at the The Eldritch Dark. There are many great short stories, and in the nonfiction section I found this nice little piece regarding the Philosophy of the Weird Tale:

I really love Clark Ashton Smith.
All of his fiction ought to be in print (sadly, to my knowlege it is not.)
The Averigne stories are totally aces. Pagan and sorcerous france, many of the tales depict wizards of the old ways battling christian antagonists, time travel, and other fun stuff.
Zothique cycle is likewise good fun.
Only the martian stories bored me.
Anyways, the Atlantean High Priest Klarkash-Ton was a brilliant man and a star amongst the classic writers of wierd lore.
Man deserves props.
I gotta get the time to re-read some of his work sometime soon.
Its strange--the guy had an easier writing style than HPL--by far. But he used so many arcane words---!!!
