The Daemons has now been re-released on DVD format, technology allowing it to be fully reconstructed from the transcribed black and white 35mm prints that solely survived. The 'VidFire' technique has restored the fluid video look on those sections that were originally recorded in the TV studio. Colour saturation has been increased. The Dr Who interpretation on the Devil was that it was in fact an alien species, the Daemons, who were treating humanity as a kind of laboratory rat experiment. They artificially introduced technological progress in a slightly amoral way, accounting for Humanity's destructive impulse. They were also prepared to destroy the human species if they deemed it a failure. Roger Delgado's black magic incantations were actually him singing the rhyme, 'Mary had a little lamb' backwards!

The Shunned House
www.hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/fiction/sh.aspx
This entire story is about the process of individuation.
A reader gets lost in the details. Instead look for the unifying theme; the concept. A writer always starts with a concept to portray and fills in the details to capture attention.
This character begins the story/process with the reflection on the history of the Shunned House/his Shadow. He investigates it, entering the 'basement' with a scientific approach; delving deeper into his subconscious. He attempts to maintain logic but logic cannot be taken on this journey. He confronts fear when he 'awakens' from a dream. His comrade could represent his calm and gentle scientific side that is eradicated in this process. He leaves the process mortified and decides to face his Shadow. He 'digs deeper' and upon finding it he eradicates it with acid and buries it again. Life is renewed and probably his spirit. Hope has returned in the nesting of birds in the boughs of the gnarled tree.
"The barren old trees in the yard have begun to bear small, sweet apples, and last year the birds nested in their gnarled boughs."
A description of this process:
pandc.ca/?cat=car_jung&page=major_archetypes_and_individuation
"One of the advantages of withdrawing one's shadow projections and owning our own 'stuff' is that the external world may brighten up a little for ourselves and those around us, since we won't be projecting so much of a negative nature outwards..." just as it seemed to do for our character above.
