It's a common belief (irony!) that you have to believe in magick for it to work. From what I can gather from people who hold this belief, that if you believe in magick, it works, and if not, it doesn't. And it's that simple.
So, my question is:
How is belief in magick required for it to work?

For my part, it is no longer a belief, it is a knowledge...
There is a difference between not to believe and believe that not. If you are "sure" (ha ha ha) that it will not work, then it will not. But to believe in Magick is definitively not enough to make it work. It is not even necessary, an open mind, even a doubtful one, is OK.
What is essential, what makes Magick working, is gnosis. To make it short, I will describe gnosis as a moment of high awakeness, when one is the most aware, conscious as possible. At this moment, sending your will in... well, in the void or in a flamme or where and how you want is effective. The quality of your gnosis makes the difference. There are different methods.

For my part, it is no longer a belief, it is a knowledge... Nice to see you, brother. What's the difference? What's the difference? It seems you only gave one case out of two. "Ok", how so? (And what do you mean by "ok"?) This is off topic. It's an interesting discussion and has it's place, but I'm trying to stay on the specifics of the question.
