So, here I am with a predicament that is being stubborn to solve. After gaining confidence and control over myself, I now have the ability to do whatever I want to support myself...only I have no damn idea what I want to do. Specifically, I have lots of little things I like to do that would be fun. But I have this picture, this imaginary future in my head that I would put all of myself into creating. Only, it seems nearly impossible. And a bit embarrassing to share that dream, but I won't withhold it if asked.
How do you go after something no one has ever done or thought about before? Of course, I'm sure I'd fail a few times but I feel like my idea is so far out there it would crash instantly. How can you have a "dream job" if it doesn't exist and is impossible to create?
Much frustration.

There's two people who I know of who created their dream job out of thin air because that's what they wanted to do. One of them is fictional, the other isn't.
The fictional one is Sherlock Holmes who created the very idea of a 'consulting detective' because he wantrd to work on cases worth his time.
The second is Richard Bandler, who (with John Grinder), created the entire field of NLP, well, because he digs it.

I think what you are saying is you have a passion you want to pursue that you want to make a living from; money.
I have started multiple 'businesses' and they all turned out different results. Before I go into them I have one thing I'd like you to consider based on my own mistakes. What is it you really need in life and what do you want? Those questions need to be answered first in regards to understanding how much money you need, if any at all. (And yes, there are ways to obtain things without money. I have been in dumpsters. I have traded this for that. Money is not king.) Do you want a house or not, transportation, what will be your lifestyle, dreams and desired life accomplishments?
I have been an integral part of starting 2 construction companies from $0 and no loans. It requires time, patience, skill and creativity. Be willing to try new avenues. I created nearly everything needed for the business and handled all accounting. I had no education in any of it. Just stubborn belief I could do anything.
I made a completely break-even business in growing and selling food; vegetables, fruits, eggs. I grew it all for nothing. The operation fed me without costing me a dime, but certainly work was involved. It was a passion though, and never felt like work. I love a passion that requires you to constantly strive for higher results, greater skills, and offers continuous challenges. That is an excellent goal for a career.
Your dream job is not impossible. You just have not formulated the steps to create it. Get the word out. Start something that applies to your dream field, even if you don't get paid yet, and build a sort of portfolio of your results. Become an 'expert' of sorts. Just start something and share it. Networking will flow in if you share your dreams. It did for me. Now I can't get people to stop asking me questions.
I've been sidetracked in life but I'm in a similar position as yourself. We all need to examine what we spend our time on and why. I think you can make it work. Who's to tell you that you can't?
