What movies did you learn something from or was an interesting exploration of an idea?
They Live -- Awesome classic about consumer culture.
The American Way (or Riders of the Storm) -- About how presidents get elected, and psyops.
Dark City -- are we nothing more than our memories?
American Pop -- Follows how one generation fucks up the next for four generations of musicians.

Padowan: It's a bit long, but yeah, hell of a proof of concept. (Yup, I dig Darren Brown.)

Transformers: The Animated Movie
Believe it or not, this movie is DEEP. I'd have to write a short book about it to explain it all. The short version, in Cultspeak, it's all about the struggle of autonomy vs a lesser god and all that arises from that.

What did you learn from Labyrinth?

Myself, not that compilation of stretched ideas on that blog.
I had an opening of awareness. A brief sense of 'more' is outside my perception. A 'need' to learn more of what I didn't understand. Most important, to be wary. Be careful what you wish for. I saw it as a young girl. Many images from that movie have stuck in my psyche. The clock. The staircases from the famous painting. A lifelong interest in labyrinths, mazes, puzzles, mysteries. And magic and imagination. The music. I was always musically induced.
The crystal ball. It is permanent. The line in the movie even says," all your dreams" are contained in that crystal ball. looks a lot like a 'bubble' I have imagined in my past. Saw it about the same time as The Dark Crystal - another big influence on my childhood, by Henson as well.

And the last thing I learned... I had power.

Somehow I think what you assumed something other than what I was going to tell you.
