"The unconscious activity of a million machines must necessarily result in destruction and extermination. It is precisely these unconscious, involuntary actions that are the root of all evil. One particular aspect is the question about war. People ask how to stop wars, but wars cannot be stopped, because they result from the slavery in which we live. Strictly speaking, man is not to blame for war, which in fact is due to planetary influences on a cosmic scale. But we put up no resistance whatever to these influences, and we cannot resist them, because we are slaves. If we were free and were capable of “doing,” we would be able to resist these influences and refrain from killing one another. We are what we are and cannot be different. War has many causes that are unknown, some in us, others outside us. We must begin with the causes that reside in ourselves, recognizing that there is no possibility to be independent of cosmic forces when we are the slave of everything that surrounds us. We have to see that we are controlled by everything around us. If we can achieve freedom from surrounding things, we may then become free from planetary influences. Gurdjieff, G. I. (2013-02-13). In Search of Being: The Fourth Way to Consciousness (p. 23). . Kindle Edition.
I'm getting this strange, creepy sense that the author wants to imply we are like cells in an organism; part of a greater being, unable to 'do' except that which we were 'intended' to do - our useful function. It is just what I'm extrapolating from my own knowledge and imagination, but if that is what he likens us to, then how can we ever express our Will?
Can a liver cell dislocate and travel through the bloodstream, infiltrate the brain and will more blood flow to the liver to increase 'riches'? (you know, as to bring more 'riches' to his 'home.') No, but a cancer cell can detach. A cancer cell can disrupt the host. Effect blood flow. Become immortal, that is, until the host dies.
So is a magic/conscious human a cancerous form of sleeping, conformist cell-like humans?

When you learn more about the Ray of Creation it will make more sense. This also is related to the idea of multiple 'I's. "So is a magic/conscious human a cancerous form of sleeping, conformist cell-like humans?" Are you asking if a conscious individual can harm the "body"? Could you perhaps extrapolate on what you mean to ask?

No. I'm using cancer cells as an analogy.
If we cannot 'do' , if cannot separate from our nature except through the awakening of our objective reality I made an an imaginative comparison.
Cells compose a system. They are imprisoned within the limitations of their roles in this system; the organic body they create. They consume, produce energy, reproduce but are not free. Unless there is a 'transformation.' A mutation. A mutation of the DNA that makes them immortal. Literally. This is cancer. A transformed 'normal' 'sleeping' cell. A cancer cell is now free to move throughout the system (metastasis) and spread its transforming qualities everywhere. They are essentially bucking the system. Which eventually, if unchecked, will kill the host organism; the system will fail. Same thing happens in all natural systems. An enlightened bee is a threat to the colony. A free radical is a threat to all other atomic structures, oxidizing them into more free radicals and destroying tissue. It seems to me this follows the thinking of the LHP, that autonomy has the potential for chaos.

Heh We start out as 'cogs in the machine(system)'. The sad fact is that most people have their lives dictated to them.

The paradigm of the Cult of Cthulhu is that the Universe is fundamentally hostile to us. We were created to be slave, cattle, our suffering being food for the lesser gods. The Old Ones gave us the opportunity to Awaken and to gain our freedom (and the very life of our soul btw). So rather than comparing you to a cell of an organism, compare yourself to a cow promised to the slaughter house. The leader of the vegetarian militants opened the door and is calling you. Ordinary cattle will not move. What will you do ?

@shawn No more Mary... @ Yrreiht I'll be the cow that smells blood and kicks the man with the electrical prodder, tramples him and starts a stampede, making sure to spit on him before I leave.
