I had a profound thought the other night right after meditation. I've realized the penultimate flaw of accepting anything as "true" is that you immediately shut off any ideas contrary to what you now believe to be true. Does this perhaps mean that nothing should be considered true? Was old Hassan onto something when he said, "Nothing is true. Everything is permissible?" I think it might be beneficial to keep an open mind until I truly figure this whole thing out.

[teal]Only if you have an aversion to the coexistence of contrary ideas. Even then, most people pick up enough of them by applying their common judgement.
I think you'd learn more from his teachings regarding ta'wil than you would from that phrase, which is simple and self-magnifying.[/teal]

Why should they coexist at all? Why not dismiss them both and just accept that you are indeed the master of your own reality?

The best : accept them both AND accept that you are indeed the master of your own reality.
Isn't it better to accept than dismiss an idea to study it, to use it ?
