I'd have to say, that's wickedly genius. I've had thoughts like this concerning the "end of the world" B.S. but nothing as immense as this. I'm in. The interesting question is, how far would the rhp push back? Would it be like what resulted after Anton LaVey, a reemergence of devilish fear and witch-haters? I'm debating posting this on my facebook or not, though I'm leaning toward, "Hell yes!"

I'm with it, any groups out there got plans to get together for other reasons?
Who would you say hosts the biggest events so far, or who has held the biggest events in the past? Perhaps we could give them a nudge.

I agree with all of this, and someone should try to contact Mr. Rice and tell him to hold another rally. I sense change in the air, this day, I feel will unite the Left Hand Path, once and for all. This time we have to be sincere about bringing the Right Hand Path to a halt and actually making a difference. After the 8/8/88 rally almost all Evangelical T.V. shows went off air, or cancelled, that was only when 1,000 people got together. Now you got to figure in the whole LHP, wiccans, pagans, luciferian, CoC, etc, etc, etc. theres got to be at least... a few hundred thousand people, imagine what that could do? I say let's make a difference!

I'm curious what the point is. This brings up the whole issue of whether or not the LHP should actually be a mass ideology. Do we really WANT most people to be self-serving?
I also kind of laugh at the idea of the "tyranny" of Abrahamic religions. It's pretty easy to live free of any concern of what your religion is. If we want to "change the world" as this YouTuber states, I don't think religion is the primary thing keeping people down.
But hell, maybe I'm wrong. What do you all think?

It's kind of in the nature of LHP groups to be apart, from what I've seen the LHP evolves by splintering off from an earlier group, then developing a following. Groups that don't work die out and the new current takes over. I don't think a unified LHP would work as a mass ideaology, but a little more association between groups wouldn't hurt, and neither would a little get together.

Eh I've changed my mind. There are social benefits to the LHP spreading. For one thing, even the fiercest of economic libertarians actually still suffer from an Evangelical-traditionalist collectivism that crushes their genuine underlying desires and personalities.
Having more self-aware, developed, conscious people generally means that *all* struggles to overcome socially backward policies get a boost.
And it's just more fun, I guess. Less judgment. More sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
I may still inform this young man that the precise purpose of his global day of action is unclear to me. Is it to grow the LHP? Is it to liberate the world from the Abrahamic religions? Is it to establish us as something that should be socially tolerated without prejudice/fear/discrimination? All three?

I'm sorry, I can't support this b.s. I understand his personal need, but the trend I'd like to start isn't of this ilk. All it does it force more segregation. My desire is a secular society in which ALL personal philosophies and religions are viable. This is not going to happen by bashing a specific group. I'd rather see diplomacy. And this World is not run by a specific sect. It is run by complacent humans who believe this shit is the way.

I agree, more can be done working together, and as long as the get together is for celebrating our minority beliefs & not tear down the current religions then it might be worth it. It should be positive & for the glory of all beliefs, as much slack as we can cut the others:)
Who would be the best at organizing it, the COS or others?

Can they? It's not a matter of this, unless you intend to eliminate the rights of others - and this makes you no better than the force you are attempting to neutralize. We co-exist now, we just don't agree on all the issues. Should one religion rule over all people? No, but you have to take into account, the history of not just our nation but other nations. It's world history, and its changing ...slowly, but surely. At one time, the people demanded these things. The majority ruled. The statistics are changing. Adherents.com is the best site for keeping statistical religious data (as much as they can obtain) As of 2005, this is an estimate of where the world stands. This is HUGE difference to what it was say, even 50 years ago. People are exploring alternatives, and the communication explosion is allowing people more access to information they didn't have before. People were forced into their religion, either by their nation, or their own people. It's not the case anymore here in the states, but its a different matter entirely in other nations. There are Satanic temples erected in Africa, people are free to go there and worship their dark lord, but this doesn't mean that the locals won't try to kill them for it, if they are walking a dirt road alone. Not to mention the culture of corruption over there, crooked preachers ruling over the ignorant by fear. People killing their own children, out of psychological terrorism and this is just one drop in the bucket, in one area of the world. [see my paper: www.scribd.com/doc/19392052/The-Science-of-World-Peace, for more information on world issues] We are all inter-connected, and I don't care how many claims one makes that they are not connected to other nations, and other people. It's ALL connected, either by commerce or trade. Money and power rule this world, not religion. Religion is merely a political current to use to keep things going, even if its in favor of the investors. And money is only one issue, its more complex than pointing a finger to religion. It's a multi-leveled sociological issue. For instance, why do we have blue law in the US? Should I have the right to buy booze on a Sunday? Shouldn't a business have the right to profit from my sales on a Sunday? In order to make these changes, we have to be more diplomatic about these things, otherwise you are running yourselves ragged and getting NOTHING DONE. Everyone has an agenda, what is this youtuber's agenda? Unity? Psh. Hardly. He wants to create controversy, he wants to get people all worked up and for what? A stinkin' good guy badge? I tell ya what, this guy can choke on it, as far as I'm concerned.

Understandable, but how large would a political rally be if it was only for Socialists or only for the Green Party? What if LaVey had focused only on atheists or only on theists when creating his Church of Satan? You get a larger tent by being inclusive and just a little vague... or should I say impressionistic.
From my perspective, Styxhexenhammer666 is trying to appeal to the widest base possible. In the beginning, I think that's a wise move. As the date gets closer, further definition and clarification can be added.
I don't think his agenda is unity for unity's sake, nor is it controversy. Want to know his true agenda? Ask him. I have my own agenda for LHP Unification, and it has nothing to do with wearing a good guy badge.

OK I decided to refine my thoughts on this, The idea might be good, but how many people will actually do this seriously, how many are willing to do it? This guy dont understand, those who associate themselves with the RHP probably will never do this because they think like those who are close-minded and dont care to associate with those who are labeled as "evil" and since they are still programmed, I dont think any big changes can be made until one awakes first. Not only that how can we all co-exist together when we all have different tenets, codes , customs and beliefs, we are all different. And sometimes in order to become something more we must have indiividual thinking, awake.
I understand that there can be a common ground but I have tried this before the unity, and no one really cared. So I speak from experience here. I do know its not going to work. The thing is did the guy ever think about what will happen AFTER the date? Will it stay? Does he realize we have to keep at the WORK? Does he know what the Work is? NOthing is going to change unless we initiate it individually and keep at the Work we must work on ourselves before we can make a change in the outside world. "As above, so Below"

The COC might have to be the group that spear heads all this since most other groups wouldn't want to be seen together under one banner. Is this the case?
If so, they could find another medium to get together. Ren Fair perhaps:) It might be something commercial like that that brings these groups together. Sad, but maybe for the better.
After some investigation I find that it would be very difficult to put all these people in the same room. They have reputations to uphold after all! I'm convinced a commercial angle might be needed. Oh well. Awake!

Venger tried this a couple of years ago, Cthulhu Two, after the mild success of the first. To my knowledge only the vendors showed. An annual meet up, with opportunities for think tanks, talks, lectures, demonstrations, etc.
People talk a lot of shit, but follow through with little action. We shall see what happens with this, as time goes on.
Still waiting for the youtuber to respond to my questions.

My Youtube response to his video:
And what is that agenda, exactly? I think many of the people responding are missing the point entirely. So what if you don't have all of your facts straight. The concept is still solid. Unite together to make a stand; show your presence. My question is, once the united voice is established, what will it say? And in doing so, will it bring together mankind, or drive more separation into an already incredibly splintered world?
Priestess Cora, I agree with where you are coming from, but I think there can be balance here, as with all things.

Apsara,
What is the balance here? I get where you are coming from, but not for nothing, no one is prevented from having their own gatherings and doing their own thing. In fact, many already are.
What he's really talking about here, is inter-faithing people with opposing views against the Judeo-Christians, and Muslims.
What he negates, is the idea that those on the 'LHP' also are in favor of Law, Order, and all kinds of crazy shit that directly affects all of us.
Take for instance, the Death Penalty. I have been against this my whole life, I will not vote in favor of it, it doesn't mean that there aren't hundreds or even thousands of people on the 'LHP' that do favor it, rather than incarceration. So on one hand, its all 'Celebrate your Nature!' On the other its 'Kill that bastard and remove him from society!' Even the death penalty is a highly complex issue, that many don't think all the way through, or they have and simply don't agree with another person who also has and has an opposing view.
So, what are we really talking about here?
Getting together to stroke our respective cocks?
Public access, cable, internet, podcasts, radio, meeting places, etc. People are already doing this, if they so desire. A youtuber calling to action, is just the buzz topic of the week.
The balance, is perhaps, just taking time to consider the idea.
I have considered it, and I think it blows.

Styxhexenhammer666 (http://youtu.be/3C7meP1tLPA)
I give him this .... he has moxy ... misguided ill planned moxy but moxy just the same....
Mislabeled about 15 belief systems and if you are gay well shit you can be one of the LHP ! Again he has moxy just the lack of forethought but hey good luck with your project as you have labeled everyone on your list under the umbrella of the LHP. After all Styxhexenhammer666 seems to have the grandpoopah status of making labels for everyone. So now Styxhexenhammer666 is crying out to lead the world in unity to sing Kumbahya.
rather than wait for a day of unity why not let people do what they do in their fashion rather than this grandiose horn tooting? In my opinion make use of the suggestions Styxhexenhammer666 now d not wait a year establish your self other wise you will be like me asking myself about Styxhexenhammer666 "who the fuck are you ?"

Haha, great video. "And I stop because, that's it, there's nothing else". YEP, my sentiments exactly. Puffery for the sake of what? There is no clear bottom line agenda, other than to have a mass complaint about the 'power and control of Judaism, Christianity and Islam'. Cry me a friggin river. There is the history of the world to consider. People fight for what they are most passionate about. Perhaps 12/21/12 is really an attempt to get people passionate about fighting for something - but what? We are individuals. We don't share the same ideas, we may find some commonalities in our ideas sure, but I hardly find that we all want the same things.

Don't know until you try.
We can't wait for supreme enlightenment before taking action. Awakening is a process; it stems from doing... putting in the work.
I agree with you. That's why I spent a lot of time codifying my understanding of the LHP. Of course, within that codification, there's a lot of play. After all, a certain amount of personal freedom is inherent to the LHP.
So, now you're giving up? Hey, I've tried too. I like to think that some of my energy paved the way for this thing.
Indeed.
Cthulhu Two was a huge let down because the very first convention was such an outrageous successful. The weekend of Walpurgisnacht 2005, the CoC was being born, and I had about 80 people attend. Of course, people didn't travel across the country just to see what Lovecraftian shenanigans I was up to. S.T. Joshi and Robert M. Price were the guests of honor.
Perhaps I assumed Cthulhu Two would be awesome because Cthulhu One rocked and the CoC was growing by leaps and bounds back in 2009. Overconfidence + lack of big names with drawing power + the bad economy = abysmal turnout. But that doesn't mean there won't be a Cthulhu Three. Maybe 12/21/12?
Weren't we just talking a few months ago about re-branding the Mayan Apocalypse to suit the Cult of Cthulhu?
Regardless, I know what you're saying, CS. It's tough to get things going, to motivate people, organize stuff, and reconcile the differences between various LHP factions. However, as of right now, this whole 12/21/2012 is free form enough to suit everyone's tastes. Some people might gather together in person, others could observe the day by themselves, and a few will surely post something on the net.
Those are good questions. Again, I think each individual will bring their own answer to the proceedings.
Liked your video, Ronald. Thanks for posting it.
I immediately forgave some of Styxhexenhammer666's inconsistencies and ass headedness. But then, I forgive millions of people every day for all the billions of offenses they commit under our Lord's loathsome tentacles... so that didn't seem like a big deal to me.
I asked Styx for some Q&A a couple days ago, gave him my questions. He emailed me back saying he was going to make a video response. So, I guess we'll see. In the meantime, how many people think it's a good idea to start organizing Cthulhu Three for Friday 12/21/2012 - Sunday 12/23/2012?
