Has anyone ever heard of a book called "The Book of the Old Ones" ? It's by someone who calls himself Scorpio. A friend of mine sent me the book as pdf and it is pretty interesting.

I stumbled across that pdf myself Sarak. Although I haven't practiced any of the rituals in the text, I found it to be quite an interesting read. The guy has attempted to use the Lovecraftian entities of the Cthulhu Mythos and warp it into a magical grimoire of self help for any and all major and minor real life ailments and problems.

Ah yes, I recall this book now. Never had my hands on it but I would like to read through it, even though it's probably a disgrace to the Old Ones. Of course, that's a matter of opinion... Anyway, Sister Sarak do you have my e-mail still? I'd like to give the book a look of my own.

Like while at work performing some mundane task that doesn't require much of my attention, I've always felt a lot of energy from them. I'll admit, I'm quite lazy when it comes to the actual practice part of my religion. I lack motivation and times and it's rather frustrating, but when I actually do make myself do a physical ritual of some sort, I get a lot of satisfaction from it. Usually I just pull things out of nowhere and make it up on the spot. No strict guidelines or rehearsed incantations. Let us know how your experience goes! Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn! Absolutely, and since it isn't too far outside our own paradigm of belief in The Old Ones, the potential for personal success is possibly greater than it would be with perhaps a similar, simple treatise on African Voodoo for example, in which some of us may have no particular belief in.
The main thing that I find detracts from the credibility of these types of commercially advertised tomes of magic are the blatant use of questionable testimonials from probably non-existent people.
Even though I am skeptical of these types of texts, I must admit that in my late teens and early twenties, I had rather unexpected, serious, personal and material success from applying the methods of a tome in a similar vein called Psychic Magic Power. There were too many successes that I had to pass off as pure chance. Possibly it was my honest naivete and willingness to suspend my disbelief that created the favorable circumstances I had.
Like Kai' Sigth, I will also be interested to hear about you results. Best of luck to you.
