The three zones of awareness look very useful, and I think they are the crux of your essay—they were certainly set apart in a way that commanded attention. There was very little in the essay that tied into them, however. If there were examples of the zones, I couldn’t tell what they were. Much of the essay seems to be a stream of consciousness. We follow your mind through its various digressions (your inability to remember your birth, the sun as a source of energy, trouble at work, personal issues that compounded this trouble, etc.) I don’t know if you were trying to recreate the experience of a wandering mind for the reader, but it was a bit confusing for me to follow. I’m not sure the detours contributed to the main point; I often forgot the theme (self-awareness) throughout reading the essay. It threw me off a bit that terms in the middle of sentences were capitalized. I wondered what was so important about those words, but it seemed random. Many of the sentences run together in comma splices or run-ons. Some of your thoughts at the time of events are thrown in with your narrative, and I was distracted while trying to actively try to distinguish them. There were a couple places where you used "there" when you meant "their," though you used "their" correctly near the end of the essay. Overall, I’d say there were a lot of gold nuggets in this and I appreciate your contribution. The inability to define self, the formation of the super-ego, and many of your notes about self-awareness were very insightful. That being said, it was tough for me to get through without a clear structure/framework/map. That would have helped me understand how each part added to the whole. When the stars are right.

Congratulations Wizard of the Terrible Darkness Izratan’Sharaz. Per the general request by High Priest Satanis, I read Izratan'Sharaz's essay. I also have some feedback. Izratan’Sharaz, I hope you find my comments helpful & useful. After your first paragraph, I had a hard time following what your were getting at. I couldn’t find the scent, which leads to the meat at the heart of the matter. To me, you were going around in circles when trying to define self-awareness. Not only that, it wasn’t immediately obvious where you were going with it. In other words, I don’t think your thesis was well defined. I like the information in the section about Awareness of Social Dynamics. I think it should be mentioned sooner in the essay. I look forward to reading more from you in the future.

Let me start off by saying congratulations, Vanessa. I look forward to another female perspective from a Wizard of the Terrible Darkness caliber of Cultist.
I enjoyed your essay. You supported your ideas with examples from the great ones that have come before you well. I agree with the need for astor within the LHP completely. However, I still don't understand how you propose we go about getting other Satanists to listen to the idea. I understand that many masters can make for great resources and support systems. But so many of the LHP are against the idea of bonding together stating that is borders too closely to the RHP idea of collective consciousness.
How do you propose we approach these types of LHP individuals so that it would allow them to receive the idea of astor with an open mind?

Congratulations, Izratan'Sharaz on your ascension. I enjoyed reading your essay on Philosophy of Self Awareness. I especially liked how your life experiences triggered an awareness in you for change. At several now moments a shift in reality came, a realization that you must overcome, in a positive fashion, instead of going more negative, and not letting the circumstances dictate the outcome, to me that would possibly indicate a move from one type of man ( 1-7) to the next. Sorry to hear about your friend. I like how you accessed one's false personality by following the herd, which I think you made a very good point. Without a system or school which utilizes some type of fourth way method no matter how individualistic a person thinks they are, to me one would still be asleep, maybe not following the herd 'per se' but still a sleep with their false personality. I loved how you said how you found your true self thru the Cult of Cthulhu and The Lovecraftian Mythos. I think this is what sets our Cult apart from other left hand path traditions, prove positive, verifiable change, a shift in the level of consciousness, an awakening. Hail to you Wizard of Terrible Darkness. Now is the moment of Awakening. The Great Work has just begun Talek Esoteric Herald of the Old Gods Cult of Cthulhu

Congratulations Vanessa on your ascension. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your essay on The Necessity of Astor. I thought you made some good augmentative points, on how community levels up to reason. The left hand path covers such a broad specter of individuals, organizations, and communities, and except for circumstances dictating togetherness, I myself see no future change in the associations of the path, all tho with the rise of certain groups, necessity could force change. I applaud and support our High Priest Lord Satanis and the cultist for their efforts for Astor. I do think more along the lines of being a Cthulhu Cultist, and not a satanist, or occult practicer, or member of a magical order. To me we are a dynamic ever evolving fourth way school in a left hand path tradition. Not like a lot of these left hand path elitist who cannot get beyond their mechanicalness, and hence, asleep to their own individual egoistic mentality, unaware to their own blind sheepness. Sorry just don't like giving them a pass on their flawed philosophy. But on the positive side would always being willing to promote and engage people on our Cthulhu Mythos Philosophy and our Religion. I donot forget that I too am asleep, but here, I have the guidance for the possibility of verifiable change and transformation, and to me that makes all the difference in this imprisoned world of ours. Remember yourself, for the Emerald Kingdom is at hand! No man may cometh unto Yog-Sothoth, but by him! Talek Esoteric Herald of the Old Gods Cult of Cthulhu

I wouldn't mind being a traveling CoC rep. Since I'm not as familiar with alot of Occult rituals.I dont think other cultists would be as intimidated by my assisting in there Rituals. Being a guest.
I live near Camp Pendelton, S. California. I can be anywhere in So Cal. in under a two hours.
I dont care how crazy or odd your style is. It would be bad ass to learn how some of you others get things done. Like I said Im new to alot of styles in the Occult so I wont be a problem. Im very good at channeling different energy.
I can arrange a couple chicks or guys. But no cake. But some of us should surely get together.

I will be reviewing all members of the CoC before 1/1/2011. Upon that date, I shall see who is fit and ready to hold what position.
Those desiring an advanced degree (Wizard of the Terrible Darkness and beyond) should let me know of their intent and must also do the following...
1. Write a 500 word (minimum) essay on a Cult related topic. This essay must be approved by Venger As'Nas Satanis.
2. In addition to upholding the Oaths, each Cultist must swear their undying personal loyalty to Venger As'Nas Satanis.
3. Recruit three new CoC members.

I plan on painting the CoC logo on my jacket. Maybe including a phrase or two. Hopefully start up a conversation. People must see Cthulhu's name & become familiar with him for our religion to grow. Look at how the other religions do it. Their in your face. Billboards, bumper stickers, T-shirts. It constantly reminds us that their a part of our society, a part of our reality.
When they meet us ,they must see the same amount of conviction & belief in our eyes as they have. The Cult of Cthulhu is now a real religion. What an accomplishment in & of its self. Government recognized & locked on to the history of this nation forever more. How fucking bad ass is that! A little more epic then I think we know.
We are apart of the public's reality now,and they should be victims to our beliefs like we have been victims to theirs. Or so it should be.
The point we should be striving for, is that day when we meet a Muslim, Mormon or Jehovah witness on the street & we tell them who we are & they say"Oh, ya I know who you are. You guys believe in Cthulhu & the Ancient Ones. I have a problem with some of your beliefs though. Specifically in regards to The Fourth Way & Gurdjieff's view of ascension. It seems to me...bla bla bla".
I guarantee you more than a few skeptical people(maybe hateful) have stepped on to this forum out of a bit a fear at who & what we are. But because we were out there, we got em.
They must see us as a threat. We need them to know who we are. Once we do that, and we show them by our convictions that we are a force to be reckoned with; then we will sit back just a bit more confidently, I think.
This is in regards to rule #3. Requiring three new members.
This is our religion. I say we drive it home.
Awake!

Unfortunately, I haven't received the enthusiastic response I was looking for regarding Cultist ascensions. The proposed deadline was January 1st which is almost upon us. This lack of leadership will make my creating a dynamic, cohesive, and gnosis-hungry clerical administration difficult at best.
If the importance and drive to ascend within the CoC is lost upon most of you, then perhaps I failed somewhere along the way. That happens occasionally. Regardless, the struggle must go on. My self-publishing The Emerald Bible is contingent upon finding trustworthy individuals who can manage and mentor the ziggurat's base. The details of overseeing every aspect of this religion all by myself prevent me from pursuing various high-priority projects. That's a shame, but such is life.
Those who want to email me their ascension essays, please do so at your earliest convenience.
