I'll check them all out once I get a grip on my head (it keeps rolling off my neck). Venger, I should have you check out some of my other "doom" stuff, more in the vein of the song on my Satan's Troops profile "Satan Speaks To Me." I was calling it like, doom-sludge, or something, but it seems to line up with dark ambient (according to my knowledge of it). Sadly, I seem to have been born at a time when the best music scenes were either coming to a close, or had closed by the time I grew old enough to like them. Rambling again, so.... Dead-Love&Light, -H.

Dead-Love&Light, -H. Wow,that sounds like...no excuse at all. Music scenes don't close, people do and doors and loads of things, but who cares besides those that do, God bless each and everyone of you. If it's good...it's eternal, which means forever, kinda beyond your lifespan and those of your grandchildren and then some, right?

Well, I meant to say...You know, the goth scene as it existed back in the day doesn't exist anymore except in the underground. Now I go into the music store and ask for goth, and they point me to Emo! Thats all I meant really. You are however quite right in your statement. These scenes become eternal, perpetuated by those who keep them alive. I meant that i would have loved to goth around when it was in its hey-day. -H. P.S. I checked out the Virgin Prunes, and I...was not impressed haha! I give them one star (*).

While I rarely listen to it nowadays, CoF has a special place in my heart. It was among the first extreme metal bands I ever came across, I was probably in the 3rd or 4th grade when I started listening to it, and it's from interpreting & translating Dani's lyrics I learnt most of my English from. I like his older stuff much more than the recent, feels like he's gotten used to selling a zillion copies of every release and not putting so much of his heart into it anymore... or maybe I have not listened to them quite thoroughly enough. Oh well, I have other stuff to listen at the moment, long live Filth's legacy!

None of you mentioned the perhaps the most dark band ever. Have any of you ever heard of Fields of The Nephilim. There second album The Nephilim and Third album Elysium are Brill. And for the real geeks their videos were directed by Richard Stanley of Hardware (Mark 13) and Dust Devil fame

Ahhh, the first music I ever heard mention sumerian/lovecraftian is Morbid Angel. That was when I was like 12 and I thought it was like the evilest shit I'd ever heard! ;D

They played 'Cthulhu Dawn' the other day in philly. I stalked the crowd, triumphantly screaming the words and had a blast.

Dimmu Borgir definitely wins they are modern sell outs but their music is fantastic. Cradle of Filth same things. My advice break from the main stream Black Metal stuff and find good stuff on your own. Also Danzig is crazy amazing.

I love both Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. If I had to choose between the two, however, I'd go with Cradle! They are so theatrical in their sound alone! I got to see them live about a year ago. They kicked some major ass!
Also, they are coming out with a new album this year, sometime around Halloween.

The list of the 100 was pretty good, yeah misssing slayer and fear factory. Plus gorgoroth wasn't on there. Zao i always loved, but also whitechapel and trigger the bloodshed are awesome. Anothers, braindrill, wolves of the throne room, taake, hell milita, it, ov hell, triptykon, etc. These are among the most satanic bands, except for zao, whitechapel, trigger the bloodshed they're just bad ass. Gorgoroth tho are the best satanic black metal by far, I think anyways. Dvd of the concert that got banned cause gorgoroth had naked women and men on cross's , plus sheep heads on sticks is available for purchase. Its pretty sick. Anyways kudos on the list! Awake! Ia Ia Cthulhu Fhtagn!

Yeah skinny puppy good, I love last rights and too dark park. Rabies good also. Seen them in concert in the 90's, pretty intense. I've used skinny puppy along with screams from horror movies, and moans from porno looping in the background for my rituals before. Have to love skinny puppy! Awake! Ia Ia Cthulhu Fhtagn!
