Ia, Brothers and Sisters. I was just wondering, has anyone ever tried to use any of the spells and rites within De Vermis Mysteriis? Do not assume me naive enough to think that anyone who has utilized the spells has sacrificed humans, though. I meant, possibly, on a more.. astral level. Well, if anyone here has used this tome at all, I'd be most appreciative of an account of your workings.

I read a version of it. It would be hard for anyone to do any of the rites and not go to jail.

Well, that was my thoughts on the matter also, so I was wondering if anyone had tried to utilize parts of it in adaptions, or perhaps on an astral or ethereal plane...

Oh come now, use your imaginations!
Hell, even constructing the altar according to it's specifications can be done.
I mean, it doesn't have to be 'exactly' as outlined, a boulder the size of a man would be HUGE. I could set this up in my yard, taking up very little room but in an apartment? this can be a much smaller version.
Where it calls for human and sheep bone, these can be chicken bones, wood, or metal - depending. 'Symbolic' representations.
As for the human sacrifice, entrails and all that jazz. Wax dolls, bodies carved from fruit (which age nicely), or even SPAM can be used. Spam can be shaped into a body, cut up and eaten.
Create, create, create!

Thank you, Cora. I did have similar thoughts, but I guess I'm just a bit of a stickler for authenticity. Too often I follow instructions precisely. But it is food for thought - actually, my creative self does need some stimulation. Cheers.

Honestly, When it comes to authenticity, I think it's your own adaptations that make it 'authentic' otherwise, it's like copying another person's term-paper and trying to pass it off as your own. You become essentially a copy-cat. Personal symbolism is key, in reaping results. You reap what you sow! Spam bodies are just plain cool, take pictures!

Hehe, I shall. However, I awoke at an absurd hour this morning with a variation on the creation of my imitation sacrifice in my head... Y'know those silly doll baby things that children play with? I'm going to get one of those, make a few alterations, and fill it up with offal and meat. I thought it to be very fitting, considering most of the Mysteriis rituals call for the sacrifice of infants. And because the dolls are made out of weird plasticy-rubbery shit, it'll last several uses

Here is some useful information about De Vermis Mysteriis.
First, read the Invocation of the Four Ends/Bounds. Next, read this excerpt from Part II, The Black Tablet:
The worm/Alyah/Alyach dwells in empty and cold space that is around the stars the planets and all things, and that pierces them all. He also exists in the shade of every living creature and grows inside of it, and devours it, and become bigger and stronger. When he devours the shade and leave only trifling useless pieces, the living flesh will die. But if it recognizes Him as its Master, it will be a god in that moment, and the sanity contained in it will be the sanity of the great Sorcerer.
In this case the Worm will not devour it and feel it joined to it. And someone, who was a man before, becomes a Sorcerer. He cannot be destroyed by anything or anybody. Only his own mistake can destroy him. If His body will be murdered, He will be revived, and woe and distress to everyone, who dare to stay in his (the Sorcerer) way.
Every time I use this book, I first conjure up Nyarlathotep. Then I give him the three basic requirements for human sacrifice. Then he enters their dreams and kill them. The three requirements are as follows:
1. Must be a virgin. 2 Must be healthy mentally, physically, and spiritually. 3. Must be chosen by the gods.

Right now I am trying to decipher the Stronghold. When I said the word "El" which means Lord/Master while touching the bottom left sigil, I felt a great deal of spiritual energy spread out from that one spot around the entire Sronghold.

Indeed A Very Dark Work. If It Were To Be Conducted With Actual Infants & Virgins, I don't Know If I Would Want To Experience Such A Power!

All things have certain frequencies or vibrations...so you might not be able to change things around much and still get the same results. Best bet is if not able to do it 'right', which is illegal, then leave it the heck alone. Not worth all the pain and suffering you will endure and cause others...

I find that if a person dedicates themselves to Yog-Sothoth for all time he can make pacts with him involving sacrifices on a psychic level and De Vermis Mysteriis. After all, the Old Ones do enjoy driving people crazy to an extent. And as for the eternal part, he could make you into one of his spiritual children reborn through him, similar to Wilber Wately in Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror". Now Whately is fictional, but Alchemists have acknowledged that certain toxins can prolong one's existence. Being a vegetarian helps in this situation according to the Atlantean Necronomicon of Warlock Asylum in the section on the Akhkarru/Vampire. The green slime that is mentioned in the Cthulhu Mythos is seen as symbolic of insect blood due to their necessity of vegetables and the lack of meat for hemoglobin as they have no hemoglobin. The green color of insect blood came from the pigments of the plants it eats. You have to be a Vegetarian on a physical level for this to work. As for the "Blood of Kingu" this is referring to Menstrual Blood and it unites Nanna and Inanna. Inanna through her entering the Halls of Urulu and Nanna for his government of the tides of blood.
